There are creams that bike riders use to prevent skin breakdown in the nether regions...one is called Chamois Butt'r. My husband is an avid bike rider and swears by it. I, of course, can not help but poke a little fun at him and his cream for his manly bits.

Thanks.  There is a bike shop not too far from here.  Or would you just get it at the pharmacy?

This is really embarrassing for me to talk about.... but I have terrible butt crack. I use neosporin during the night and powder during the day. I usually use the yeast infection powder that my doctor gave me for my sore belly button.

Where else could we talk about stuff like this......

is't that the truth.  I started not to post but decided surely someone else had a problem and had solved it.  I would have never though butt crack loose skin would be such an issue for me.

So I rode this morning and am no worse for wear.  I changed from nylon to cotton panties and very liberally powdered with a medicated powder.  I also found if I changed my position to sitting more on my crotch instead of my tailbone, it help a bunch.  I guess part of it was that I was relaxed and slouching a little on the ride.  So all this may make me a better rider with a more appropraite seat.  DH has some silver sulfadiazine cream that we had used on burns in the past and I'm going to try that at night to see if I can get this healed up.  Then I hope powder will keep it from happening again.

Price, I'm glad you posted and enjoyed reading all of the suggestions because I have a lot of loose skin back there. I will keep up with my powder but purchase some of that medicated cream that a couple people commented on. That way I will be prepared. We travel often and it's nothing for me to have to sit in the care for 12-17 hours at a time. I usually get boils though. Take care and I'm glad you enjoyed your ride.

 Wow - what a pain - literally!

The first thing I thought of is, when you ride, can you put a sanitary napkin back there to absorb some of the friction and perhaps alleviate some moisture?  I also like the padded biker shorts.

Maybe insurance will pay for a butt lift?  Hey - get it documented - you never know....

Hopefully some of the advice given to you will work.  I know people that use powder liberally to ward off rashes, rubbing, etc.

My tailbone hurts when I sit too long in a leaning back position, but I've gained enough weight back in the butt area that it really isn't an issue anymore.

I would think if you rode a bike for long enough, it could happen too.  I know you got a lift but without, it could be a problem.  The powder worked today to at least keep it from getting worse.

It can happen with bike riding, which is why most bicylists wear padded shorts or pants. I don't know about motocyclists, though.

What help me with some of this problem was the weight training that I have been doing. I have a bit more muscle and that helps, but on vacation a couple of months ago, when I spent long days rowing a raft, I developing some butt crack irritation due to the wetness of the water and sitting for so long. Next time, I will put more padding on my seat.
