Good Morning. Having hope, knowledge and seeing results

Those things together are powerful. They can provide the motivation you need to keep you going when things seem to be going in the wrong direction. You have to do your part and be a little patient but they can really work for you. If you are in maintenance and find yourself needing to lose or are struggling to maintain, or if you are in the first 2 years post-op and find yourself stalled, this message is for you.

I'm hoping low carb and lower volume/calories will work.  (HOPE)
I'm seeing results, even though just a little on the scale this morning.  (RESULTS)
I know what to expect and statistics show low carb works. (KNOWLEDGE)

Positive self talk for today:  I know to expect it to take 10 days or so of low carbing and minimal grazing to really start seeing results but I'm hopeful.

I hear ya!

I had a lot of time to think yesterday and know I have really got to get back on board and change up what I'm doing.  I know I have been lucky I haven't gained anymore than I have.

Weighed myself today (was scared to!) and was pleasantly surprised I was where I was when I went to MI.  My eating was horrible and full of carbs there.  But - I know if I continue that, it will go upward again.  I've taken 3-4 lbs off from my highest in maintenance and know what I need to do to do it.

Having almost 2 yrs under my belt give me the knowledge to know that it will work if I do it. Yesterday was a crazy carb day and I watched it happen. It started when I picked up the popcorn chicken at Walmart while grocery shopping. Thanks to ya'll talking about fried chicken yesterday morning (just kidding, I was the one eating it). Then I picked up a loaf of french bread to have with supper. All that after making muffins for breakfast. The results, up a pound, were exactly what my knowledge told me it probably would be. But I know what to do and it will be gone soon enough.

For newbees, it is so important to learn the lessons, not just lose the weight. You could probably eat almost anything and lose weight in the beginning. but you need to learn the lessons to, gain the knowledge so when you get past the losing stage, you have your knowledge to fall back on. This isn't for 18 months of honeymoon, it is for the rest of your life.

I have to do positive self talk frequently. It does wonders to pick a person up emotionally so it effects them positively physically also. It's like if you are around a negative person for a time you start to feel differently. More negative yourself. I get up and move and have even added a radio to the barn so I can crank up the jams while I'm in there working. It sets my pace and keeps my mood elevated.

God post Gina.  Happy Labor Day.

I know what works for me if I'm honest.  I give myself the range of 141-143. This week I crept over that to 144 a coupe of times. It takes 1 dessert and I'm up 2 pounds, taking a week of 30-40 crbs to get back down.  I'm working on lowering my range, without success. I'd rather it be anything under 140 instead of anything under 145.   I never got the LW numbers that most if you achieved.

As long as my 6-8 jeans fit comfortably, I only mini panic.

You have worked harder and longer at this than anyone I know.  You should be 98lbs the way you eat and exercise.  Your metabloblism must be in the negative.  But I never see you complain or whine.  You stay so positive and supportive of everyone.  I love you miss Lee.  You are a great woman.

Price, you are one of my priceless ones. I love  reading your posts! I do my best everyday.  My surgeon told me to make peace with my metabolism, so I try.  The gift I get in return is knowing that I have patience and perseverence.

Thank you for that incredible compliment!

Happy Labor Day....

Just keep on doing what I need to do right now.

I'm trying to graze productively. I think I live on meat and yogurt. (using the plain chobani and adding my own stuff to it).
