Unjury question
Lumps are because you are mixing it with a liquid that is too warm. Keep it under 120 degrees. If it's cold and lumping, you need to make sure you give it time to dissolve - same with the foam. It can be a science at times...

Try using a blender bottle with wire ball rather than an electric blender, if you are using electric. Let it sit a little while after blending to let the bubbles out. As Jody said, keep the liquid temps cool. If you're making protein coffee or tea, blend the protein with cool water or milk, then add the hot liquid on top and stir.

I don't like lumps and like Jody said your water is probably too warm. When I mix Chocolate Protein in my SF hot chocolate I warm half of the cu pof water and then I shake up my Protein in room temperature water...pour the cool mixture into the warm very slowly. Then I put the whole cup in the microwave just long enough to warm it.
It takes time to figure out what works for your Protein.
I use the shaker bottle with the SS ball in it for all of my Protein. I never even noticed the foam until several people mentioned it in their posts awhile ago. The foam doesn't bother me and it dissappears after awhile.
