I count ALL carbs...have to as I am diabetic and regardless of it being fiber or not, ALL carbs affected me. It also affects my weight loss...besides adding all carbs together is far easier than figuring net carbs.

i only take out the fiber. That is easily tracked because most foods list the fiber content. When I was losing, I tried to stay at 30 or under net carbs, total carbs - the fiber.

I count it all.
Sugar alcohols have calories (some almost as much as a regular carb, some miniscule) and sometimes your body reacts to them as if you'd ingested sugar which is bad if you are insulin resistant.
Fiber is usually not digested but it depends on the form of the fiber. Since it's all so variable, I figure I might as well just count it all.
But I'm also not aiming for 20 g of carbs. If I was, I'd probably subtract off fiber.
