Fall shopping thread

When I was visiting my DD, we went to one of her thrift stores and managed quite a haul.  She replentished her sweater shelve and I went looking for cords for the winter.  Found 3 lovely pair, 4-6, some with tags still on.  A great pair of grey dress pants and 3 tops.  all for under $30 because they had everything with a pink tag, 50% off.  With the few things I have picked up here and there, I am way over what I will need for winter.
Anyone else have some good finds while shopping?

Great find Price!!

When I went to my 40th High School reunion a couple of weeks ago, I took my sister with me to pick out a dress to wear.  I had taken a skirt and top, but decided I wanted something very fitting to my body.  I tried on several dresses and she decided to go pick out some things for me.  She brought back the dress I wore and when I looked at it I told her I couldn't wear it since it was a 4P.  She said just try it on.  I did and it fit like a glove - she told me it was the dress for me.  Another girl in my class was there and told me how good it looked.  It was sleeveless which I don't do and both said I needed to go sleeveless.

I think I paid around $35 for it.  I also bought some sandals to go with it.

Linda

I have lots of tops, but do need to get some more pants and blue jeans.

sleeveless was brave but I saw the pic and you looked great.  My arms are so awful.  I do tanks at the gym but that is it.  I have looked a couple of times for dresses this summer and they either are sleeveless or have little cap sleeves, none of which works with my ugly arms.  I could do skirts and tops but haven't found any that I really thought would work.

Sounds like you got a great deal and got to look really hot for your reunion, too.

I hit Goodwill for pants Sunday. Ann Taylor and Coldwater Creek. Love that place!!! Sounds like you did great!!

I still need sweaters and more work pants. So I'll be frequenting Goodwill again soon.

I found a tub of jeans, shorts/crops that I had no idea would fit. Thanks to Cricket/IN for those goodies. Best timing ive ever had is the post that she read re my post for clothes. Her fat clothes are my skinny clothes!!! My niece was going to be very close to her house that next weekend and it worked perfectly!!!

Headed out to find a cheap jacket at Macy's tonight hope the sales are good.

Yeah, I never had those names in my closet before I started shopping at thrift stores.  Now I am all about brand names, just on the cheap.

I take my clothes that don't fit to the thrift store but since I am only 4'11", I know it takes someone special to get the pants or else they can use them as capris.

After all of the suggestions yesterday to go to the thrift store for a few pairs of pants, I went last night.
Everything I bought still has tags on it, 1 Tommy Hilfiger shirt was originally $62  unreal!

I bought 5 pairs of jeans (varying sizes to fit now and a few to shrink into), 1 bra, and 20 tops. . . . . . . . . . . yeah, I know, 20 tops is a little much, but that just covered all my clothes for Fall and Winter and I spent $86. . . which is amazing!!!!

Most of the clothes were brand name (Tommy Hilfiger, Ann Taylor, Lord & Taylor, Mudd, etc) and like I said, still had tags on them so I just couldn't NOT buy them!  I knew if I didn't get them last night they would be gone, so I snagged them all.

I think I did great on my mini shopping spree!

Wow, I think you get the crown .  I hope all those tops are different sizes cause you may just gt to wear each one once.  When I was losing, I bought stuff that I nevr got to wear because by the time I got to it, it was too big.

LoL thanks, Price!  I am excited about my new "loot". . . .Almost all of the tops I got are stretchy so I should have no problems wearing them now and even into next year.

They are mostly XL's but I got a few Larges that were just too cute to pass up.  I like the materials I found because even if I lose another 20 pounds by Spring, they will still fit, look decent, and not be too loose.

I was planning ahead when I bought this stuff, which is how I ended up with so much of it and even bought varying sizes .   Realistically, I shouldn't have to buy anything now till next summer. . .I'm still tickled over the price lol.  I would be so broke if I went there more often!

When I was losing, when I found a great deal, I'd buy several of the same thing (usually pants) in 3-4 different sizes - worked great!

But don't be surprised if in a few months NOTHING fits!  ... just saying!
