Calories?

So I was wondering if anyone in their tracking tracked calories and knew what we should be eating during maintenance?

I actually want to lose 15 lbs, but the tracking says to lose I should eat 1100...isn't that too low?

What's a calorie?  ;)  Nope, I still just count protein and try to keep carbs down. If you want to lose, 100g of protein and 50 or less grams of carbs, and increase your fluids.

Good to see you, babeeeee!

I agree with Gina.  However, when I went to the Nut last time and they did a body fat analysis, it said I needed 1200 calories to maintain.  That is baseline, no exercise.  So 1100 to lose may be pretty correct depending on how big you are.  It takes more calories to maintain a larger weight than it does a lesser weight.  but if you keep your protein up and your carbs down, I imagine you will lose, however slowly.

Look at some low carb diets like Adkins and South Beach.  Think protein. Veggies.  Look at miles and menus and see what some of us are eating.  Log your intake on there with us and get some help.  You can do this.  You did it once, you can do it again.

I agree with Price. I'm 5'0 and 131. Without exercise, I try to stay around 1200-1300 calories. Now that I'm trying to exercise, I could probably do more, but I'm going to stick to that amount. I find that it works for me on most days.

Pam, you can do this!!  You've come so far.  Come back on the board for support and accountability.  Post your meals on Roz's Menus and Miles.  On Sunday Liz does a weigh in - join us on that.  It really does help to have the support

I am trying to post a Maintenance post to help us with some of our maintenance issues - please join us on that when I do it!!

I do not track calories.  I watch my carbs and protein.  I do not worry so much about fat either.  I do exercise.  If I had to guess I would say I got around 1200 calories a day-but that would just be a guess.  I do 3 - 4 protein drinks a day that really helps me with not snacking in between meals.  I use the Syntrax Nectar protein that has 0 carbs and mix most of mine with water.  I use the Hood Calorie Countdown Milk in my coffee and night time drink - it has a lot lower carbs and calories.

Good to hear from you and good luck.

 Thank you Linda.

I will start checking in.  I guess in order to switch my support program I have to pay $140 to meet with the nutritionist to get started.  Worth it for sure, but not the best time (back to school, 3 birthdays in a row, etc).  I am going to do it though because I am worth it!!!

I have a BodyMedia FIT so I have a fairly good idea of what I'm burning. These days given my post-concussion syndrome, I burn about 1350-1650 calories a day. But before that I was easily burning 1450-1650 a day without exercise and an average of 2000-2100 a day with exercise. I miss those days!
