I'm not going to worry about "good" carbs vs "bad" carbs. For the purpose here carbs is carbs.

1-Carbs are addictive. You have a little and you want more and more.

2-Carbs give me rumbly guts. I guess they turn to sugar and provide my gut bacteria a smorgasbord, which in turn gives them gas, which gives me gas.

WHAT??? Carbs are evil?   How can that be when I love them and they love ME so much????  I've always thought they were my friend.... 

3.  Simple carbs, especially tortilla chips, puts my Reactive Hypoglycemia into high gear. 

4.  I get "sluggish" if I have a carb meal for lunch - get tired, etc.

Carbs are one of the few things I can think of that you can pick all three of "good, fast and cheap". Usually, as in the case of system design, it's good, fast and cheap. Pick 2.

1.  Readily availble almost anywhere which makes them more tempting

2.  Easy to add extra fat to (butter, mayo on bread, cream sauce on noodles, butter sour cream on potatoes) which most of us don't need.

3.  Fake new pouches out because the slide in so easily, usually causing no issues.

 Carb coma right her if I eat the "bad " kind..... Chips... Bread... Pasta....whole grain does not bother me that way but if it's Lays or white bread or regular pasta..... I'm so done..... So I use them to my advantage when I can't sleep at night..... A piece of toast ensures a good night sleep.... Lol

Okay, but I still like 'em ;-)

I have noticed that even if I have only a potato chip or two I seem to get a tiny amount of gas a few minutes after.  I really don't think it's a coincidence.  I try and avoid gas at nearly all costs, so this will help me stay the path.

I'll do my best to be good and I appreciate this post MajorMom.  Thank you.

But, they go down so easy!!  They might not feel too good a little later though(gas!!).

For a good nap -eat a few too many carbs - night night and 15 - 30 minutes of my life is gone....

Yes, they are oh so addictive it is a daily struggle between the carbs and the sweets.

I've always preached good carbs/bad carbs but once you get to Maintenance ALL carbs can be bad!  

I think it's crazy how easily Carbs go down and there is no sticking involved.

GAS from Carbs...Horrible!!!!!! And nothing helps it!!!

I used to eat about a cup a day when I was losing but now I only have a few pieces a day.  I never sit down with a bowl of fruit or a pod of grapes etc. When i have a banana I eat 1/2 at a time.

I asked Vitalady about it a few years ago and she said fruit is full of sugar and sugar makes us gain weight. She said when she gained she was eating fruit  all day long but she had to start limiting it.  At that time I asked her,  she said she still eats fruit but not as much as she wants.
