Starbucks opinions please.....
BE CAREFUL. I was going to get an iced coffee one day and when I saw that the Tall had 60 calories in it, I asked why, and finally someone was able to tell me that the calories were from the sweetened base that they use. I don't trust them at all. I went down a few doors and was able to get a PLAIN Peet's Iced Coffee. If I had asked, I'm sure that they could have added the SF Vanilla, but they don't carry the protein.

I would give my right tit for a sugar free Starbucks Frappe but alas, from what they tell me, there is no such animal. All of their bases have sugar. This was a while ago so maybe they have changed. I stick with sugar free iced coffees with sugar free syrups and lots of half and half or milk. Same goes with my beloved Dutch Brothers. I get my drinks blended but without their base. I love their iced Cocomo, which is a mocha with coconut so I make my own with protein powder, a packet of sugar free hot chocolate mix and some sugar free coconut syrup with coffee over ice.
I just make my own. There is something new called Fit Frappe that is a protein drink that I would love to try if I could afford it and there is Click. I just make my own with coffee, ice, protein powder and whatever sugar free flavorings I like. Not exactly the same but it will do in a pinch.

Meg,
If you are afraid you are getting too many carbs from their protein, I have taken my own Syntrax Nectar Cappaccino protein and had them add it in there for me instead of their protein. Or you could use another kind of Syntrax Nectar or one that has lower carbs. Just make sure they don't pour it directly into the hot coffee.
Do you do caffeine or decaf?

I used to love SB as well, stopped daily sometime 2x a day!! Now I only get it as a treat! We have a SB at work and I walk down there 2 times a day to get away from my desk but I buy myself a bottle of water instead. I am too afarid of the base that they use. The high carb content for me personally is not worth it. I would suggests as others did that you bring your own protein and some protein powders are way high in carbs also. Hope that helps.

I make my own mocha coffee and iced coffee. For the ice coffee, I make a cup from my Kerieg the night before and refrigerate. I mix from 1/4 scoop to 1/2 scoop of my protein powder with it depending on how chocolatey I want it (and how much protein I need).

Look on the SB website and see what the ingredients are in the mix. I used to get a SF mocha from a local coffee place, but when they told me it was a powder, not a SF syrup I had them give me the mfr. Looked it up online and WOW there were 100 calories in the mix alone, and it WASN'T all SF... Now I knew why I had a sugar reaction to them.
I dont get the frapps at SB because of that - the base is "lighter" but not totally SF.
