1st surgeon/consultation tomorrow

 Headed to CMC to meet Dr Gersin tomorrow. Nervous, excited and did I mention nervous? Have my list of questions (many thanks to all) and my husband is going with me. I sort of feel like I am going to a judgement hearing or a bad episode of This is Your Life. There are some things I just don't talk about very openly with my husband (like my stress incontinence) and I feel like all my issues will be laid open. On the flip side, I'm excited he is going...I need his support if i really go through with this and right now, he is still against it. I'm excited to start the process and see if this will really work for me. I think tomorrow will be a very interesting start to the weekend.  And I scheduled my annual ob/gyn for Monday...big news for me; haven't been in 4 years. I guess I feel like I need to start facing the music.

Best of luck to you today! Just take a deep breath and get through it. One day at a time WLS sister! I am glad your hubby is going. You will need his support.

My DH was ok with the whole thing but did feel better once he met the Dr and got more information.  Glad he is going with you.

I HATED going to the Dr before surgery.  OMG they were going to make me weigh.  These days, I don't dread it at all.  Kind of fun to hop on that scale and know it isn't going to make you cry.  Anyway, those days are ahead for you.  Hope all goes well. 

My DH was against WLS, especially my most recent surgery.  It was mainly due to concern that something major may go wrong (I've had a suprisingly easy recovery so far - I'm 17 days out).  I also have one failed WLS under my belt so he was concerned about that too (if I do well he'll change his tune).  The expense was another factor (I was self pay).

I hope your husband comes round and that your consultation goes well.

Good luck with your appointment.  My DH was against it also, but it was because he didn't understand and was so afraid something would happen to me during surgery.  He went to both consultations and an information seminar.  He felt much better after the consultation with my surgeon.  

Tell him to asked questions if he has any or tell you what his questions are so you can write them down and asked them for him.

How did your appointment go????

My DH and oldest DD was totally against me having surgery but I learned later it was out of fear that something would happen to me.  Now DH is thrilled......!
