how many of you have problems with milk?
so far i have just been drinking pre-mixed protein but i have some protein samples i'd like to try that seem like they would be better mixed with milk. (nectar vanilla and chocolate flavors of some sort) should i just assume i'm going to have problems with regular milk and get lactaid? i hate soy and almond milk. never tried lactaid milk, so i don't know if it will taste funny.
what are your experiences with lactose intolerance?

My surgery was 7/24 and I don't seem to have problems tolerating milk products but I don't like them so I use coconut milk. We had a group outting from my surgeon's office and the NUT went with us and said coconut milk has a bit higher fat and not as much protein as milk but given our low amount being used in protein drinks (4oz + 4oz of water for me) they said it was a good option. I like it because it also has double the calcium and is creamier than milk.
If you get the unsweetened coconut milk it is only 45 calories for a cup. Everyone once in awhile I can get my boys to drink it instead of milk because it does help with alergies (doesn't seem to build up mucus as much).
Best of luck!

Pre-op, I drank lots of milk (only whole milk, can't stand the others). Anyway, I get home from surgery and the first thing I did was make a protein shake with....you guessed it, MILK! I have never been so miserable in my life.
I can use half & half, cream, yogurt, ice cream (the real stuff not the sugar free SH%T), cheese, etc...it's just milk that gives me issues. I can use it now but not drink it...I got to the point of being able to use it in foods by using the lactaid whole milk and by taking lactaid pills.

i don't have any problems with milk or any milk products. I like soy milk but it gives me gas. I am also fine with the nectars mixed with water or decaf as a creamer. They make fine shakes with lots of ice blended to crystals.

I can't drink milk any more.
The Nectar flavors should work fine with water and that will keep your carb and sugar content down.
