I don't have any experience with vegetarianism, but hopefully someone will come along who can help you with this.

Good luck!

Seeds and nuts have lots of calories.  And fat.  I guess if you eat too much of even a good thing, you can gain weight.  And I could eat a lot of nuts without ever feeling full.

I knew going in that being a vegan was NOT an option for me. Protein first.

And everything but meat and fat is a carb...and turns into SUGAR in your system. That is they way our body uses the food.

Is there a lot of fat, calories and carbs in your diet?  Do you use butter, eat a lot of bread?  Are you vegan?   There are many ways to be vegetarian and overeat - in regards to healthy calories, etc.  If you do eat cheese, there are a lot of calories in cheese.  Serving sizes matter too.  Nuts are high in caloris and fat.  A serving of nuts is not a lot of food but quite a bit of calories.  If you do not track your food, try joining myfitnesspal.com, among others, and you will be amazed how quickly the calories, carbs and fat can add up.
