Ok, it's official I need to put myself through carb detox and maybe some sodium detox as well. 1st step-no grits this morning. I'm not going to die...I'm not going to die.

I do love grits.  I don't have them often but I understand your problem.  I also love cornbread but that is the devil itself.  You have to slather it with butter and it is so dense and calorie/carb and fat laded that even a tiny amount is way too much and not nearly enough either.  Sigh.

I'm planning a week of clean eating.  No eating out, no simple carbs.  I do have some fruit, figs and peaches that are going to go bad if I don't eat them so I will indulge a little.  Otherwise, protein, veggie, shakes.

going to workout today after driving the ponies, then Zumba.  Looking at my schedule for the week, I should get to zumba 2x, swim 2x and drive/ride  the ponies everyday but one.

Good luck with your carb exorcism!! I am off til Wed. Going to the lake tomorrow then back to Cedar Point Tuesday. Bought some new protein bars to try. When I check back in Wed. I'm sure you will be saying "that wasn't so bad!"

Good for you! I worried about you a couple of weeks ago when you started on the cheetos.....

I had to fight the oatmeal monster this morning and I won!!!

I don't sit down and eat many carbs but those little bites through out the day can add up. I'm going to make some pizza chips and buy some healthier finger foods like turkey bites today.

Detox for me, either carbs or sugar, takes about 3 days. Good luck. I know you'll get through it.

You can do it Gina!!  It is so easy to get hooked back on carbs.  I am really trying to stay with my protein drink at night because that seems to be when I do the most damage.

DH brought some cereal which was wonderful and I've been nibbling on it here and there.  It is almost gone and I'll be glad...

I love grits and thought about having them Friday night when I bought some steamed shrimp but I made the Cheese Squash casserole instead-not nearly as good as grits!!

Good luck Gina!

I just whipped up a double batch of "sandwich rolls" to satiate my carb/bread cravings.  At 138 calories, 15g of protein and about 1g carb they are GREAT alternative to regular bread or rolls.

What was I thinking planting 20 tomato plants????  I live alone and my neighbours hate tomotoes so needless to say I'm going to be eating a LOT of tomato sandwiches.

Are you willing to post the sandwich roll recipe? Also, if you have an abundance of tomatoes, is there a homeless shelter or food pantry that would take the excess? I have gardner friends who do this. I would too, if I could get a decent crop to give more than a few away at a time. A friend said they also freeze well, take out the stem core and throw in a freezer bag. He uses his for homemade chili in the winter.
