Good Morning. Get Busy!

I really need to do some positive "self-talk". Get busy and do something rather than sitting back and worrying.  So, I thought maybe I should get a second job...maybe one I can do from the home computer. Thinking maybe med transcription or something new coming down the line with all the potential changes in medical coverage. I don't know...something away from military and DOD funded work. Diversification... Looking for ideas since I haven't thought civilian since around 1979. {sigh}  You guys got any ideas?

Today's To-Do list:
Get through all the data input at work today
Farmers market this afternoon after work
Chiropractor after the farmers market
Now, what to fix for dinner....

What's on your To-Do list today?

Nice positive alternative attitude *like*.  I hope you get some good suggestions.

I'm kicking back at home with my mom today.  Just willing my appendix and gall bladder holes to heal up and stop weeping ;-)

That's an idea but I have no thoughts about what or how.  I've been doing this for too long to know much about other work stuff.

I have a driving lesson with chili, riding lesson with Poppy this morning.  It is cheaper to do 2 lessons at the same time since getting the trainer here is part of the cost.  Then normal work stuff.  DH and DS leave tomorrow for a week at a golf resort.  I am loving the idea of having the house to myself for almost a week.  Woohoo.

 Hi Gina!

Got my mother a mover to move them on Monday.  Not sure if I'll still be here, but will try.  Otherwise I have a LONG drive back on Tues AFTER a day of work... oh well...

I need to work, of course, then go to an electric supply company and see what they have for baseboard heaters and thermostats.  I want to upgrade the ones in my house.

I may just blow part of this day off - gorgeous outside plus I want to get painting!  I need help deciding on a paint color and *may* have found one.  Need to pull my daughter over to help.

Good morning, Gina...medical billing is a good field.

*I* feel like I've been rode hard and hung up wet. My BUTT hurts frrom sitting over 12 hours in a metal chair...the kind found in schools. I could get up and walk around as often as I wanted since we had such a SLOW turnout yesterday (only 51 people came in to vote in this election...it was a primary but still!) Our biggest "rush" was 4 at one time.

We did learn some things...need better stuff to take with us and NEED pillows for the chairs!

Good luck on the second job.  My full time job now is a result of a part time second job I took in 2000.  Best thing I ever did!!  My sister in law works from home and loves it.  I'm not disciplined enough to do it.

I would think medical transcription would be a good field.  There are several women here that do that and make pretty good money.  Some also do transcription for the court systems in several counties here.  I dont' know how yours works, but that could be something to look into.

Work today.  Yesterday was a very busy work day.  MUST finish about 3 things today at work, so I really need to get busy!!

Good afternoon!!  Two days down and now I have a three day weekend!!  This is my kind of work!!

I had a meeting yesterday and the subject of my retirement came up.  It's scary business.  I'm only 45, but would like to buy 4 years of service from before I started working for the school district then that would only leave 3 more years and I could retire with my full 30 years of full retirement.  Health insurance is the killer for us. The school pays for mine but I have to cough up the $ for DH's.  He'll be 70 in January and is eligible for Medicare but we figure after we pay for all of the part A, B, C, D's etc we are just as well off to leave it like it is right now.  When I do retire, he'll have to go to Medicare because it will cost $600 a month just to keep my health insurance.  But like I told the gals yesterday, it's costing me $500 a month right now just for gas because of my long commute.  I'm sure I'll probably find something else closer to home.  It's just so hard to know what to do.  I have a wonderful job!!  Great pay, summers off and I'm starting my 24th year there.  But DH has been retired since '98 and he's not getting any younger.  We've been very blessed that Missouri teachers have a good pension and because of our age difference we took the option of me having his pension the rest of my life too.  What to do, what to do???

One thing I know for sure though is it doesn't help anyone to worry about it.  You are smart to be proactive about it.  That's what I'm trying to do...make sure I have a plan!!!

Todays agenda is a little housework.  I had wanted to try to make it to check out one of the butcher shops I found near by that sell the grassed beef and pastured chickens/eggs.  Not sure I'll get there today though.  We'll see.
