So I got a question. The day before surgery I have my pre op tests and one of them is the EGD and the nurse told me that they also test to see if I have the "Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori). If i do then i would have to do take 2 weeks antibiotic and would need to wait for surgery. Now i freaking myself out :-) I dont have any symp. but i read a lot of ppl have it and dont know it. Did any of you ha a problem with this?
Normaly i wouldn´t worry so much about it but since we are moving it would change everything..

Thanks ladys

didn't have it.  They did my test further out, don't remember exactly when but I know it was at least a week before my surgery, maybe 2.  Seems odd that they would wait that long and maybe upset the surgery schedule.

I know someone that tested positive for H pylori but she was tested before the surgery was set and did the antibiotics for 2 weeks.

They tested me for it when they did all my pre-op labs and that was several weeks prior to my surgery date.
Sorry you have to cut it so close.  Hopefully you won't have and everything can go as planned!!

Wow...I think that's crazy that they are waiting too.  I don't know if I was tested for it.

Why would they wait until the day before?  Mine was a couple of weeks before.  Sounds crazy.

Hope all is well and you don't have it - I didn't.  Yes, pretty much no one knows they have it.

Good luck!

I am so excited about myy surgery but i cant stop thinking about the H.pylori. That would make eveyrthing so complicated. We arte moving to SC on august 17 th , 17 days after surgery what is already close enough but if i have the H.pylori that would move my surgeryto august 14 th and would really suck :-( So i just have to hope and stay positive
