Hello Light Weights, I had rny surgery on 02/02/12. My highest weight was 194. I am 5 1/2 months out & down 76 lbs. I reached my personal goal of 120. I have 11 lbs to go to reach surgeons goal weight. I am 5ft 2in. I think 107 is kind of light. What do you think?

I think 120 is fine too but you might just want to see if your body takes you a little lower so when you bounce back a little you'll settle in at 120. Welcome aboard! :)

Welcome to the LW Board.  Congratulations on your success.

Maybe your surgeon wants to see you go a little lower and lose as much as you can in case of bounce back weight.

I'm 5'1 1/2" and am very happy around 125 - 128.  I'll probably have to watch my bounce back a little closer than most since I don't have much to play around with - 132 would be overweight for me.

I'm 4'11" and 111 was pretty low for me.  I seem to be best around 115-117.  I have a large frame so I guess that plays into it but 107 seems really light.  Were does that put you in BMI?

My BMI would be 19.5. I forgot to mention my age in my original post. I'm 49 and have an average frame. People are telling me to stop losing weight (including a co-worker who also had rny). I do look kind of frail at 118. My face is very thin & I have lines that I never had before. I'm going to follow my surgeons instructions & see how it goes. I could use
some botox & filler.

I went through a time when everyone was saying not to lose anymore and I did look pretty gaunt.  But I don't weigh but a pound or two more now.  Redistrabution is real.

Good idea.  While there is "bounce back" there's also "re-distribution".  You can maintain the same weight but the fat left seems to want to move around.  While you may look "gaunt" now, it will change - trust me!

I got down to a BMI of 21 (I'm 5'3") and looked gaunt.  Each of us are different.  Just listen to your surgeon.
