Hang tough, Nikki. Your surgery will help with the hunger. Drinking protein shakes will help too regardless of what the NUTs tell you. ;)

Are you on a strict diet right now? If you aren't then enjoy eating some of your favorites without quilt. We all have had a few "Last Suppers" before surgery.
You can't compare head hunger now with how you are going to feel after surgery. It is completely different.

Hang in there!!!! Get busy getting all your plans in order -- do you cook??? Look up some healthy freezer recipes for your family to enjoy. The best thing I had after surgery was homemade chicken broth -- my sister made it and froze it in 1# deli containers. It tasted sooo good on my new stomach! I'm guessing she used the chicken, celery & onions and boiled, then strained out the bits. It was lovely!

Nikki.... What you are feeling is what I understand everyone feels. Don't get down on yourself for not being able to do something that you haven't beeeeeeeeeeeeen able to do! That is why you are having surgery! I have faith in you.... if you are going to do anything, learn to chew, sip and don't drink with our meals... that will help more with your goal than this other stuff.
Kaiser had me on 1200 calories a day so that I would maintain my 20 pound loss required for surgery. What you are experiencing is really normal. I personally had to do very low carb to keep the hunger at bay.

I personally think 3 meals a day is crazy. I eat 4 meals and 3 proteins now and if I were you, I'd add some low cal snacks like a protein shake with water or celery or cukes. Something. Even when were were on our 4 week preop diet, it was 5 shakes and one small food meal a day plus unlimited celery or cukes. You can do this.
