I hope all Americans have a great 4th and that our Canadian cousins had a great Canada Day. Have fun and be careful out there.

Wishing Linda a good race today.

Whatcha got going today?

Well, poor Newton was a basket case over the storm and prelim fireworks last night. I had him in his thunder shirt but realized that I should have had him on that Remedy stuff too. So, today he's got Remedy in his water bowl and the thunder shirt is ready for this evening. I guess we'll turn the TV on and keep it on kind of loud during fireworks. Poor baby.

Going to marinade or put rub on the steaks soon, and boil eggs for deviled eggs. Grand babies should be over for a BBQ and fireworks.

Happy Independence Day everyone and many thanks to those who have served out country so we can still be Independent.

Hoping Linda has a great race and stays hydrated.

Nothing special going on here.  I don't really celebrate, dad died on Independence day 43 yrs ago.  Drive a pony this morning, work this afternoon.  Keep the ponies and dogs in when everyone starts shooting off stuff this evening.  The 5th of July is the shelter's busiest day, taking care of all the dogs and cats that run away during fireworks.  Keep your babies safe.

My kid is going to be in a parade to advertise the musical she's in. They going to march down the street doing numbers from Hairspray, the Musical. She has to be there at 8 am even the parade doesn't start until 10 am. Yikes!

Happy 4th of July!!!!

I've been rushing around here like a crazy person. My sister always has a picnic on the 4th but last week she got her gall bladder out and she has had some complications.and last night she was admitted to the hospital.

My families all coming to our house so I had to go and buy burgers and hot dogs (plus do some cleaning).  I also left my purse in the buggy but fortunately an honest person turned it in.

Fireworks tonight.....YEAH!!!  The neighbors set some off last night and Houston was so excited.  I can't wait until he sees the ones tonnight.

I am a very over protective dog mommy.  I never let my dogs out besides my fenced yard.  They never go out the front door without  leashes or in a carrier.  The other day a woman came over with her 4 dogs in her car, no leashes, she opened the door and they all ran wild all over the place.  I was scared to death they would run away or get hit by a car.  She had a heck of a time getting them gathered up.  She had to get in her car and pretend to drive away to get the last one to get in the car.  I about had a  heart attack.  And none of them even had collars on!  I haven't even let the kittens out doors yet until their tags get here.
No real plans today.  I may go out to my boyfriend's house.  It's his sons half sister's birthday and he always takes her out to pizza for her birthday and he invited us to go.  Her parents are gone and he has always acted like a father to her and her brother.  He is like a father to my daughter, too.  He's a good man that way.  Anyway, like other holidays I'm just not into it.  My daughter has had some friends here for a few days and while they aren't any trouble I feel like my space is invaded and I can't wait for them to leave.

Hi Gina

Had a nice relaxing day - steaks and veggies on the grill.  Sat by the pool and reinforced my tan - even though it was HOT.  Jumped in the pool twice, and if you know me... I just don't do that.  That's how hot it was.

No fireworks that I know of tonight.  I'm sure Manassas has some but...it will be late for me and having to get up at 5...

Came home and trying to get myself ready to go back to work.  Did a little last night to catch up on emails.  I really love this "not working" stuff.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone.

Gina, the other night when it got so bad here, we had Willie's thunder shirt on and gave him one of his pills and it did not even phase him - he was a nervous wreck and pacing and panting until about 3pm when it finally slacked off.  The thunder shirt had been working before - but I think this storm was just so bad.  Hope it goes ok for Newton tonight.

I'm so glad to be home!!  Back to work tomorrow.  I had promised DH that this would be the last Peachtree because he worries about me, but after today - I know I'm going back next year if I get in the lottery.

Happy 4th to everyone.

Linda
