Thrifty finds....

Went over to "shop" our newly renovated Goodwill store. They doubled in size so it's fun!!!

Got a Brother label maker for $3, a denim mini skirt, pink shorts, t shirt and white American Girl crops for DD and a Talbot's skirt for me. $16 and some change. The bad news -- my skirt is linen. But beautiful so I may have to make an exception to my "no dry cleaning rule " this time.

Then I realized back to school ads will most likely be out this weekend. Ugh. Better get a plan together!!!

Have you scored anything good lately???

I usually shop Amvets cause it helps the vets...anyway, scored 4 spring/summer/fall tops and a nightgown. All for under $10.

I want to go shopping sooooo bad, but am having to resist.  I've already spent way to much money on new clothes.  Our Goodwill closed down last year.

Congratulations on your great finds.

I have been trying to stay out of stores, even goodwill.  I have so many clothes and certainly don't need more.  congrats on your thrifting.  When I do shop, its at a thrift store or outlet.

Really???/ Back to school already????

I need to get some job interview clothes since it has been years since I have been on a job interview or worked outside the home.  I went to Goodwill and just shopped the half price tags.  I got 4 pairs of slacks and 2 blouses and a purse for under $20 so now I am prepared both for interview and work, if I ever find a job.  I do actually have some clothes at home that are suitable to wear to work, like some tops that I could wear with the slacks and some dresses but I didn't have any pants that weren't leggings, shorts, sweats or jeans.  I expect that if I do get some kind of job where I have to dress nicer that I will have to get more clothes or even a suit or two.

Do you have any "Dress for Success" stores near you?  They give clothes to people who are going on interviews and starting new jobs.  I think they have a web site.

So after saying I didn't need any more clothes, I had to pee when I was passing the Goodwill and stopped in to go to the potty.  That's my story and I'm sticking to it.  I came out with a pair of jean shorts and 2 shirts for my camping trip.  $11.  Works for me.

I wish I could shop but between budget and finding skirts my size....
A cheap skirt is minimal of 25$ but although I had TT I still have a butt and thighs.
Soooo, I decided to buy a lot of sewing elastic (actually decided on the rest of amount on a reel which came to 26 meter!) and asked/begged a friend to help me as I do not sew or own a sewing machine and it would probably cost me a lot of money if i went yo a professional. So as I am short and fat (but not FAT anymore) I didn't care if we cut the waistline off the skirts and 3/4 length cotton
pants (I wear these pants instead of undies-but as I lost the weight and then had Plastics, my elastic waistline went up to under my boobs!) and she folded over
the material at the waistlines and stitched new waistlines and I threaded the elastic through. I now have clothes that fit my waist and make NE feel slimmer instead of frumpy. Of course I would love the thrill of buying new clothes but budget and annoyance in searching what will fit prevent me at this point.
This is/was my solution for now.
