They're taking me on Saturday to see Brave. Son#2 is all a flutter because it's supposed to be a PIXAR masterpiece. lol  I've heard the bear scene scares the little girls in the audience. Does anyone have a review they'd like to share?

It's supposed to be in the triple digits today---whew! Early walk and then I'm staying inside until I go to the farmers market this afternoon. Whatcha got going on today?

Would love to see Brave, the trailers have me smitten. I love Pixar movies.

Off to Cedar Point today to ride the roller coasters, but its supposed to be in the nineties, not triple digits, but it sure gets hot out on that pavement.

Packing protein bars, thank goodness I have a couple of Quest bars that should hold up in the heat. Need to stay on track!

We skipped Brave and are waiting for Spiderman next week. That was the girl's pick. I was shocked!

Off to CoCo Keys water park today.

We don't do movies much but this would be the weekend to be somewhere cool instead of out in the heat.    It's 80 here now, usually in the high 60s.  Ponies are going to get the weekend off I imagine unless we just go for a walk early one morning.  I may try to go swim laps today but I think they are doing pool maintainance this afernoon. Hummm.  Thank goodness for air conditioning.

Farmer's market Sat morn here.  I'm going to get some more lamb and this time some beef.  There was also someone there with duck but I don't think I want that.  Daddy was a duck hunter and we had duck a lot at home.  Not one of my favorites enough to pay those prices.  My garden is now putting out cukes, zuccinni, banana peppers and still, broccali.  Anyone got something new to do with cukes?

I saw Brave with my family on opening weekend in a full theater. It's a wonderful film, perhaps not on the level of Wall*E or Toy Story 3, but much, much better than Cars 2. The scene with the bears fighting is a bit intense, but I didn't see anyone leaving the theater for our showing. The entire film is empowering for girls and women, which is rare treat from the entertainment industry, IMHO. Also great is that it shows happily married parents, which is something you just don't see much from Disney. If you are taking children less than age 7 or so, I'd reassure them that it all turns out well, and that the mother and daughter have a happy reunion in the end.

We wait for most movies to hit the screen at home, LOL....

Yesterday was HOT but suppose to be hotter today and tomorrow...we actually tied a record for here of 100. Had it hit 101, it would have broken the record for the date. I told dh that we need to turn on the a/c...we've been holding out cause the house actually stays pretty cool under ALL these trees...low 80's inside yesterday. But it took forever to cool off last night so we will turn it on before noontime.

Just staying cool is an effort right now.

Yes, I'd like to see Brave too. I read a review that was disappointed in the story line, something about the magic they use in the movie, the reveiwer felt the story of the girl should have been able to stand on her own rather than resort to magic. Something like that.

However............I want to go so Magic Mike!!! I'd love to go tonight with a bunch of gals on a girls night out, but I think its going to be a mad house at the theater....I'll wait a week or two. LOL!!!

We hardly ever go to the movies.  DH hates movies and unless I can find someone to go with me I just don't go alone much.

It is suppose to be in the triple digits here today also.  Heat Index around 107-108!!  I'm taking the day off from running.  Going to get up early in the morning and try to get a long run in before the heat sets in for the day.

I'm meeting a friend and her daughter for lunch today.  It is the daughters birthday(15).  It is sad how you drift apart over the years.  We were there when she came home from the hospital, but rarely see each other anymore.  So this is a great treat.

DH and I are going to see his aunt in the nursing home this afternoon and then we are babysitting DGD#2 tomorrow afternoon and night.  Another busy weekend!!

Everyone be safe from the heat.

Saw it last weekend with the boys and it was really good.  The boys loved it, age 8 and 9.  It was panned by critics but seeing the detail of her red hair was enough to keep my interest.  They have come a long way in animation.  It was a great way to beat the weather!
Good luck.

Would 3D make it even better? My son goes for the animation too...he's 24. :)
