Kicking the carb monster this week
Good morning LW's!
Its good to be back. I have been lurking but not posting until recently. I really had been struggling with refined carbs, especially at work. It has been so crazy, no breaks, not getting my liquids in and then munching on graham crackers throughout the day.
I also have found that I am going out more with the hubby and probably should not be having 2 adult beverages then making bad food choices because of my clouded thinking. The hooneymoon is over and found my weight climbing.
Then I had an endometrial ablation last week, had to have it inpatient due to some issues, and ended up gaining 3 more pounds, which I am sure was fluid.
So I saw my lowest that was 131 and saw my highest last week that 147.5! Ouch!!! There, I said it. (Hangs head down in shame)
Time to come out of hiding and be accountable. So I have finally made it 3 days with watching my carbs and this morning the scale shows 143. Bless you Roz for M/M!
I have been packing protein to bring to work. Trying not to get in trouble as I am hiding fluids in the nursing station to drink and a protein bar in my pocket. I am finding that I feel pretty good this morning, except for a little pms. I guess I find out sooner than later if my ablation worked.
Lessons I am learning, is to always plan ahead, or plan to fail (stole that from a weigh****cher meeting long ago)
Even though refined carbs go down so easy, they are my enemy!
Need to keep up on my liquids even when I am at work. I need to journal and keep track of what I am eating to keep me accountable. A habit I had gotten out of.
I wish I would have put my foot down sooner to have nipped this regain in the beginning.
But I have to start where I am. This is when the real postop life starts. Maintenance here I come

Maria, glad you posted....
Maintanence is hard work...but like Gina said in another thread, WLS evens the playing field between those of us who have had surgery and those who are a normal weight anyway. They also struggle with gains ...5 lbs here or 10 lbs there and buckle down to get it off.
It's also one reason we say to ride the weight loss window as low as you can go.
Good going losing 4.5 of those lbs...that is very good. You'll get there.

You are doing great Maria!! Congratulations on getting back on track and dropping some weight already. Catching this now instead of at a higher weight will make it easier for you to get it back off.
I have a hard time with snacks at work, especially if they are sweets. I do much better when I plan and take my food with me.
Hang in there - you can do this. We are all in the same boat here!! It will be something we all have to deal with for the rest of our lives.

Great job on the pounds lost and feeling good too!
I'm right there with you fighting the carbs and the suger. The sugar goes down easy too.
Summer is always a struggle for me with the days being so long and too many opportunites to say, "yes" to a ****tails or a glass of wine at the neighbors.
The scale is creeping up for me too and I have decided to cut out all the extras and get back to basics. I had my usual protein shake for breakfast and just ate 2 oz of chicken for lunch. Yum.
Know that you are not alone and we are all cheering you on! Cheering myself on too!
We can do it.
Presurgery I couldn't wake myself up from the carb coma until I had gained at least 25 lbs. This time it's 4 lbs up and I'm not in denial.

We all (or those of us not in honeymoon) are in some degree of trying to figure this out. It is good to realize it sooner instead of later and deal with it. And we have lots of help. You have made great discoveries and are on your way. Join in the parade cause there are a bunch of us. We will do this together.
