Ever watch Guy bite into one of those over-the-top cheesy burgers and think, "OMG I want to be able to do that again"? ...just one big honkin' bite or three!  lol  Then my sleeve seizes up and gives me a mental message, "don't even think about it"!

Or, do you watch Paula add six cups of sugar to a bowl of melted butter...

Food channel is still fun to watch. Am I crazy?

I don'****ch the cooking channel much anymore but did right after surgery.  My cooking is so different than what they do it isn't even the same thing.

I did have one of those OMG moments with a cheeseburger recently.  Hardees has a low carb burger, I don't even think is still shows on the menu but you can order it.  On my way back from SC when I hadn't eaten all day I stopped and got one.  I was planning on half but ended up eating the whole thing.  I didn't get sick and OMG it was wonderful.  Really, the amount of fat was the only horrible thing about it since otherwise it was meat and veggies but I'm sure it had 3 days worth of fat for me.  I won't say never again, but not for a long long time.

Actually - no, I don't wish I could do that again.  I think "OMG that would make me SOOO sick!" - lol

I don'****ch the food channel.  I've never been a cook and I'd be the type trying to write down every single ingredient in measurements and it would drive me crazy!!

Nope, you are NOT crazy!

LoL. . .that's my favorite show. . .still!  I love seeing where he goes and what the food specialties are at the places he goes to.  I LOVE to cook so Food Network is my fave channel. . .now, I just have to figure out how to make the stuff my kids and I want RNY-friendly  :)

Did you see the one last night where they added like a 1/4-lb of cheese to the burgers and the cheese cooked up and was bigger than the burger?!?!  I would have loved to have the cheese, the heck with the burger lol.

We DVR the show and my kids (13 & 15) watch it with me, which is pretty cool.  They both want to learn how to cook and are very interested in taking items we see on the show and helping me figure out a way to make our own "healthy" version of it.

Paula's son Jamie has a show now called "not my mama's meals" or something like that and he takes her recipes and makes them in a much healthier way.

Guy is still my favorite though!!!!    There are a few things I see on there that I wouldn't mind trying. . .I don't want the whole thing though, I just want a taste lol.

MY addiction are the emails from recipe sites....I have a huge collection tucked away. And the really interesting ones get the twice over to see if it's doable.

But food shows don't tempt me. And watching someone bite into an "over the top" buger just never tempted me cause I always knew it was far too much at one time.

Now, watching Paula (before her diabetes diagnosis) cook was interesting. Altho I never added that much sugar to butter, I do get it, LOL....guess it's either the Southerner in me or the baker...not sure which.

I tend to watch the DIY/home improvement shows...far easier on the DS but far harder on the budget, LOL

I love the Food Network and watch it all the time.  I still enjoy the shows and like someone said I like to take an interesting recipe and try to make it WLS friendly.

I did try a Big Mac probably over a year ago.  I cut a small slice of it and ate it and my stomach hurt for hours.....  Never wanted it again.

I have eaten the Low Carb Burger from Hardees, but not in a while since I don't eat out much anymore.  It is really good and if you leave the ketchup off it is not that bad.

I record Paula's son Jamies show where he takes her recipes and makes them healthier.  I also love to watch Hungry Girl.  She has some really neat ideas and very simple which is what I need.

Mandy,
The Low carb burger from Hardees is in between two big leafs of lettuce instead of a bun so it has no bread.  It has tomato, onion, ketchup & mayo if you want it and can get cheese.  It came out several years ago when the Atkins diet was at its biggest point.  They still serve it, but I don't think it is on their menu.

I think his show is "Not My Mama's Meals".

I love to watch triple D, the places he goes are interesting, and I've been to Hodads a couple of times. Best bacon cheesburger ever. Went once before DH's VSG surgery, then went again on our anniversary weekend when he was six months out. He ate a mini, but just the burger. I ate the regular since my stomach is still normal size.  I skipped the sides.
