So i am trying to get back on track. I need to get the 25 lbs that I have gain in the last 3 yrs off. I am aiming to do 14 days of basics. I want to get in around 130 gm protein daily. How does this look. This is what I had ;

Atkins shake                   160 cal     15gm protein
Bariwise drink                  70              15gm
Protein Bar                       190 cal     20 gm
(2) sting cheese               160 cal     12 gm

(2) Bariwise drinks          140 cal     30gm
Total lean shake               170 cal    25gm
bariwise shake                  100 cal     15gm

For dinner i made a wrap with:

(1) low carb tortilla       81 cal     5gm
(5) boiled shrimp       0 cal          5gm
(2)TBS hummus        70 cal        2gm
(1) string cheese         80 cal       6gm

So for the day i had  1221 calories and 150 gm protein.
How does this sound any tip would be appreciated.....

Sounds good to me!  What's a Bariwise drink?

Did you figure the carbs?  That's something else to concentrate on.

BariWise are the delicious drinks i found on
www.dietdirect.com

I love the mixed berry mix. They are ony 70 cal and 15 gm protein. The taste great and they have lots of flavors. That is how i can get my water and protein intake done.

Don't worry about calories so much, focus on protein and carbs more...count those instead. If you keep those in line, the rest happens cause most of our calories are from carbs and fat anyway.

I don't worry about calories (altho my nut does), I just worry about protein, fats, carbs, and fluids.

Looks pretty good.  I agree that the carbs, at least for me, seem to be a large part of the equitation.  Around 6 months when my losing started really slowing down, I found that if I lowered the carbs to around 30 net a day, even with the same # of calories, I kept losing.  Try a lettuce leaf to wrap your wrap in and watch the protein bars.  Some have pretty many carbs for what you get.  You can eat 4 oz of chicken for the same calories, more protein and no carbs.  And it will probably make you feel fuller for longer.

You are doing great.  keep it up and those extra pounds will be gone in no time.

Looks good to me.  I'm with Price, I do the lettuce leafs sometimes instead of a tortilla or bread.  It makes a yummy sandwich or wrap with no extra carbs or calories.

I watch carbs also and don't worry as much about calories.

Are you exercising any?  If not, add a little walk in a couple times a day and try to build on that.  The further out we get, the more we can eat so exercise is really important at this time.

I am sure there are others that are going to say I am wrong but I thing that it is wrong to concentrate on protein shakes, drinks and especially the bars - they are basically glorified candy bars.  There are a few that are really good - high protein and low carb but they are very hard to find.  In order to make them taste good, they put all sorts of things with carbs and stuff like caramel, chocolate chips, peanut butter,  I even had a delicous one that was so sweet (cookies and cream with a glazed coating and chocolate cookie crumbs in side - it was a candy bar - I think it was 300 calories.  I was in a mix pack, so I didnt realize til after I ate it.  I loved it and wanted more until I read the wrapper and then was bummed

I used to get the bariwise catolog and I know they have tons of proteins drinks and other stuff, I am sure they are probably okay. GNC has a great protein drink/shake it is like coolaid in many flavors and very high is protein.  It is 40 grams of protein for 20 grams of protein.  You can drink the one bottle slowly at first and eventually in one sitting over an hour so it is one serving - not as much as a protein shake but the inbetween dont have to be as high.

I  truely think if you want mainly liquid, there is a compromise and have 3 small meals of protein foods and then supplement the rest of the day with liquid proteins.  You can still  get a great deal of protein this way.

You can do your mornings 2 ways - you can have a meal with greak yogurt and a hard boiled egg or slice of chesse.  then 2 hours later (1st snack)  you can have either protein coffee or protein hot chocoate depending on your mood.  THis is very easy on to make and high protein - some Starbuck will even make them for you I have heard. (I will give you some recipes below)

Then for lunch you can have some tuna salad like the other poster said wrapped in lettuce with some tomatoes or other stuff you like. You can do the same with egg, chicken or shrimp salad. Or you can do it with deli meats.  There are lots of options.

2 to 3 hours later have a protein shake - I will give you recipes below

Then for dinner - your dinner sounds great to me, just make sure you read the packages of wraps carefully.  I have seen wraps the same size go from 60 calories to 200 calories.  It is unbelievable.  We dont want alot of carbs but a few wont hurt us and are actually good for us for energy.  You just want them to be good carbs not simple carbs like candy, cakes, ice cream.  I am sure 1 small piece of fruit won't hurt you during a snack, it might be good at lunch or dinner depending on if you have a sugar problem - if no sugar problem, then it doesn't matter, it you do have one, then it is okay to have  a small apple, pear, peach, plum or berries  with protein like 2 string cheeses.  Banana, watermelon and some other melons not sure which are very high is sugar and can cause glucose to go crazy.  Some like to have greek yogurt with fruit mixed in it and this stops you from being hungry all night.

In between each of these meals/snacks is when you get in the rest of your fluids.  The protein shakes and drinks, all count as liquids.

You should be able to get atleast 125 grams of protein and 80 ounces of lfuids.  It is really hot and you are exercising alot, make sure you are getting in more fluids.  You dont wantto get dehydrated and too much protein from shakes with no foods can cause kidney problems.

I hope this information can help you -that is all it was given to you for.  You can either use it or ignore it.

Here are the recipes

Chocholate Monkey Protein Shake

8 ounces of milk - any time (I use lactaid)
2 tablespoons of SF chocolate syrup (I use either torani or davinci)
5 to 6 ice cubes
1 1/2 scoops of chocolate protein powder from GNC - either 100% Whey Protein or Whey Isolate
2 tablespoons of SF chocolate pudding powder
1 sliced banana (if too much sugar - use a half a banana or get torani or davinci banana syrup)

Put in the blender 45 seconds until it is totally smooth.  Sometimes you need an extra 20 seconds but not often.  Pour and serve.  This is delicious and has 45 grams of protein for the whey protein and for the whey isolate which is lactose free has 59 grams - I usually use the whey protein for 45 grams but I am going to try the whey isolate since they have been giving me horriific diarhea, so I have stopped drinking them for the past few week but I could use them riight now.  These also give you a good base for the day with your added food.

For other shakes - just get other flavor protein powders, SF syrups and various fruits.  Ex. vanilla protein powder, SF strawberry syrup with fresh syrups. Can do the same with raspberries.  Some add peanut butter syrup to chocolate shakes.  Go to Torani.com or Da.VInci.com to see all the flavors and you can also get them cheaper at lollipop.com, vitalady.com and you can post on here for more sites.  I havent ordered lately since I can get the flavor I use at my superwalmart - I am boring - I only use chocolate.

I hope this helps

The protein hot cocoa

Make it as usual.  Then take a small bowl and put 1/3 of a cup of luke warm water
in it.  Take 1 1/2 scoops of the chocolate powder (I use GNC  Pro Performance - Whey Isolate) and put in the luke warm water.and mix until smooth - usually 15-30 seconds by hand..  Never mix into the ho****er of the hot chocolate or it will clump really badly, it has to be luke  warm and done slowly.    Add the mixture of protein powder  to the hot chocolate already made  then you can add some milk to taste if you would like.  This has about 35 grams with the whey isolate and about 45 grams.

You can do the same thing with coffee and tea.
