Good Morning. Got Nothing
...drawing a blank this morning and could use some ideas for future morning posts. What would you like to see posted or asked? Discussion is good but don't want to wrinkle too many feathers if I can help it. Ideas?
thanks

It always amazes me that you seem to come up with something most mornings.
Going to drive Chili this morning, have a lunch meeting, go to the pool and do laps. Then some shopping and back home to paperwork.

I have my first counseling appointment, closing on my refinancing, an US for abnormal uterine bleeding and I'm going to the lawyer to sign official legal separation papers. Oh yeah did I mention today is my 13th wedding anniversary!!! What a crap day!
Gina, I like it when you ruffle feathers. Usually makes me smile a little.

Seeing the orthopedic surgeon about the 2 Baker's cysts in my left knee. I want a referral for PT to strengthen the knee, no surgery, but with my insurance that referral has to come from an ortho, not my PCP. Hoping to go to the library to scan photos, convert VHS to digital this afternoon, and maybe going to VS to pick up the absolute BEST workout bra I've found.
As far as ruffling feathers, I don't see a lot of that on this board - but there IS a lot of healthy discussion, which is great! So ruffle away - it makes me think!

We are going to the dog park to let the puppies let off steam. But first, we are going by a friends work to give her some of the hummingbird feeders we ended up with from daddy this trip.

We are home recovering today.
I got home yesterday after a week in the hospital. I wasn't the patient, my 12 year old son was. He wasn't comfortable with being there alone so I got to know the couch real well.
He had a scheduled surgery to correct a birth defect, Pectus Excavatum, and now has 6 weeks of recovery with substantial pain. He's doing well now that we are home.
I can't help but compare his hospital experience to mine in Mexicali MX in Feb 2011 for my sleeve surgery.
Things happen very slowly in the hospital here. I was introduced to the idea of a hospitalist as his doctor. The hospitalist had never met my son and the hospitalist changed every 12 hours. It was a different doctor every 12 hours and I had to re-introduce him or her to their patient each time. It didn't work well.
The hospitalist like to follow a protocol and when that is not working for the patient they are so slow to change it. I had no problem being my son's advocate but felt that I had to push harder then expected to help him heal. The biggest problem was that he was being over medicated and he was having some extreme side effects to the meds. I had a hard time getting the hospitalists to stop the extra meds that he was getting sick from.
I saw the surgeon once a day for about 1 min 30 seconds. He was pleased with his work and was ready to hand over the recovery to the hospitalists. He was not interested in hearing about his side effects to the meds. He liked the look of the incesions, and liked the xrays and didn't really care to discuss that he was dehydrated from vomiting and wasn't able to drink.
Not at all what I had expected for being in a major city at a childrens hospital whose moto is "Exceptional Care."
In Mexicali, I saw my surgeon 3 times a day and he always stopped by in the evening to see how I was feeling. I remember him sitting down with me and showing me pictures of his family on his I-pad. He was not only interested in showing me how well my surgery went but also how my recovery was going. He wanted to know what I thought and wanted to know what he could do to help me heal.
Wish my son could have had that kind of experience. Not sure how to fix this problem or how we got here. Just glad that he is home and feeling better.

Glad your son is good. Hope they can manage the pain for him and he has a speedy recovery.
We have the hospitalists in our hospital here and it depends on which one you get here. We had one really good one and one really bad one(he is not here anymore). He was horrible when my grown daughter was in the hospital and I finally called someone we knew in administration and he was not allowed to come back in her room.
Take care.

Hi Gina,
We went to the mall this morning and walked around. I couldn't find a single thing I wanted to buy!! I've been looking for a white skirt to wear to my 40th high school reunion in August. We had lunch out.
This afternoon we have been watching some old VHS home movies my dad made of our kids when they were small - so funny!!
Home tomorrow. It has been a great trip.
