Last week 101.2
This week 106
Total change + 4.8
No, I don't think I gained 4.8 lbs this week.  Last week wasn't right.  I changed the batteries in my scale the next day and it went back to my normal weight, which has been staying around 104 for a while.  I have been staying there all week and then today i was 106 for some reason.  I know I didn't eat 7,000 extra calories yesterday so I'm not sure what is up.  All I know is I started the Topamax last week and yesterday i was extremely tired.  Tired to the point where i couldn't keep my eyes open and I slept about 14 hours or more.  And of course the pain is still there.  I'm going to give it another week or so and see what happens.

Topamax can cause sedation. If you're not taking it at night, try moving it to nighttime, to see if the sedation decreases. Or try a little lower dose. For pain relief, you really need to give the medication more than 2 weeks, to see if it will work. Watch your appetite. It can cause lowering of the appetite, as well as the other side effects.

DS always got really wiped out when he changed meds.  Taking them at night may help.  I hope it helps your headaches too.

Tazz, I ALWAYS took my topamax at night...helped me sleep. And didn't keep me drugged up the next day.

And give this one a month before adjusting it...you may need a different dosage.

My doctor has me taking it at bedtime and she is adjusting it weekly.  First week one pill, second week 2 pills, put to 6 pills a day, actually 3 in the morning and 3 at night.  I feel a little less tired with it now, hasn't started helping the headaches yet.  I'm willing to see how it goes.

I think you have a mistype somewhere.  Either 10.2 or 159 or something.  Any way it is, you had a loss and that is great.  It does slow down as we get further out.
