Stories of people with BMI of 36-38
Hi and welcome!
My BMI was 40 (barely) when I first went to surgeon, never figured what it was the day of surgery, but lost a little bit prior to surgery.
I had the VSG and like MacMadame, didn't want to deal with the malabsorption problems. My surgeon does require his RNY and VSG patients take the same vitamins, etc. I was extremely nervous about having surgery and after doing a lot of research here, and asking if people had regrets, etc, I decided to have the surgery. I believe this is one of the best decisions I have made. I have lost 94#, below my fantasy weight of 135#, at 129.8 last week (I weigh in at Weigh****chers weekly for my "official" weight - I weigh daily at home, will be going there today to weigh in). I never thought this was possible.
Like others have said, read, pray and find the best surgeon in our area & if you decide to have surgery you will be fine.
