Good Morning. Here we go again

It's the beginning of a new week for most of us on a Mon through Fri work schedule. Is there anything you're going to start working extra hard on this week? Are you concentrating on anything in particular? I hope everyone has a great week.

I'm sitting here this morning trying to figure out a way to lift my lap top, mouse, ear phones and 2 monitors at work so I can stand more and sit less. If I have to be tethered to the thing all day all week, I need to be able to stretch my back while attached. It's either raise them up or I bring in my exercise ball and lower the whole kit and caboodle.

One of the schedulers in my office brought her excercise ball in.  It's funny to walk into her office and see her her sitting on it scheduling patients!

I have discovered I can eat anything I want now.  Nothing makes me sick unless I eat too fast.  So this week, I am going to start making good food choices.  Now the hard work starts.  I have to be careful.  I still have 20+ pounds left to reach goal.  It's super hard being at someone elses house and one with a toddler!  But I will do my best.  Next week, when I am back to my new house I will only buy healthy foods. That should help.  I will also start back to M & M.  Its too hard while at DDs.  But next week, I am back to all those good habits.

Tonya, I always have issues when I go to either DGD's house.  They have so much stuff that I don't keep at my house!!

I've seen offices with standing stations.  Everyone says sitting is so bad these days for you.  I have my chair and my ball at my desk.  I alternate between the two.  Plus I am up and down all day.  Drinking a lot ensures you will be up and moving a lot.   I've always wanted a place to use this smiley. lol.

I have a pretty mixed week ahead.  One day in the truck going to look at carriages in SC, days with meetings and days at home.  We are suppose to have rain for today and tomorrow.  Hopefully I will get a trip or 2 in to the gym and a walk.  Still tracking food, heading to 114-5 before my Blowing Rock trip.

I'm in the process of selling my mom's property (she died in March).  Closing is this week (Yipee!!), and I still have a couple of things to do, so it will be busy.

Sitting on an exercise ball can work IF you get a stiff enough one...not all are appropriate for that. Standing, while has it's benefits, is 1) hard on your feet/varicose veins and 2) can also be hard on the back. Alternating between the two is actually best, between sitting and standing.

We need to clean the house again top to bottom...we do that about every other week while the kitcchen, bathroom get it at least weekly, sometimes daily. But we have an otherwise very quiet week...leading up to a busy weekend. We leave Sat morning to NC to my daddy's and come back on Monday.

Since Pixel (the cat in my avatar) decided to chew on THIS power cord, it shorted out. Thank goodness for having a back up laptop and a desktop. However, I don't want to take this laptop to my daddy's...I also don't know his set up in the retirement home so we will be without much except iPhones and the iPad.

Well... I saw a number on the scale this morning that made me gasp and say "OMG I've GOT to get on the ball here!".  I looked up the calories and carbs in the beer I like, and well.. let's just say - a half hour of intense exercise = 1 beer - not quite worth it, is it?  So out they go!  I need to get more fluids in too - want to make some yummy iced tea to drink at home.  My "back to basics" handout from the support meeting is on my frig...

So - yesterday I had made some yummy chicken and veggies on the grill and cut up celery to bring in with me.  I'm getting a case of the jitters (from coffee) so the acid is playing games with my tummy.  Of course I want something solid to put in there..and I often think of McDonalds, but haven't succumbed to that yet....

I did have a protein shot though!  Looks like I'll mix another protein drink.

When I had my back problems I had to stand - no way I could sit.  Maintenance (at the PO) brought in some wood boxes that raised things up for me.

Does the exercise ball help with exercise or just with your back??  We have one here someone left from the play we had this year.  If it helps with exercise I might get it out and sit on it some.  It will probably be too short for me since I'm so short....

I need to look at the state grant that close on 6/30 and make sure it is all spent - we certainly don't want to send any money back!!

I have weeks of staff meeting minutes to type up - since that is one of my procrastination areas.  I did one this morning.  Maybe I can get the others done today and off my desk.

Need to get finished with some things this week because I'm off next Monday - Wednesday to visit my parents with my DD and DGD#2.
