Good Morning. If eyewash is all you want...

...then eyewash is all you'll get and it may not last. You know what I mean by eyewash, right? Superficial, giving the boss what he wants to see but there's no substance behind the product, a pretty picture for the powers-that-be to see...  You, know, it's why soldiers paint rocks around their compounds--eyewash.

So, here's the message: Enjoy your weight loss to the max--love it but don't let it rule your judgment. Take your vitamins and watch your labs to make sure you're doing the best you can do for the real person inside. Learn what makes your body hum with health--vibrate with vitality! Drink your water and fluids to the tune of 64+ ounces every day. Get 100+ protein grams in every day. If you don't do it with food, drink protein shakes-just do it. Move! Get out there and walk or jog or swim or zumba or whatever floats your boat but move it. If you have things clogging your mind and making you unhappy or anxious, get some help. If you have chemical imbalances creating problems, get them treated with someone willing to learn about your malabsorption issues regarding meds.

WLS is your second chance to get this right. Start off with baby steps until you can walk on your own, then, run with it, babeeees! :)

Y'all have a good one!

Hummmm, eyewash is a lot of what I have to do for this darn National Accrediation stuff.  Pretty it up, write it down, but in reality, it doesn't change how I do business. Never heard it called that before.

but for WLS, I totally agree.  I've made it past the baby steps with RNY and then my knee, still not to running yet with my knee.  Seems like I am doing intervals with both, learning to eat right and maintain, learning to what point I can exercise without overdoing.  But I'm getting there, and working on it.

Love the post.  Still working through all these issues.  The biggest realization that I continue to have is that I just don't know how to eat.... Yesterday was a feeding frenzy of carbs, which is where I was.  I need something to keep the energy and blood sugar levels up, but carbs ain't it..... (Note that you were right LOL) .

WOW - Great post Gina.  I really hope I use my second chance to have a better life.  It seems so easy to let life get in our way.  We get busy and forget about the essential things we need to do to keep our bodies strong and well.
