I'm back..... Missed you all!!!
I had emergency surgery 3 weeks ago. I continue to have sharp pains that come and go. My gut is nowhere near what it was prior to my intestines twisting. I have had quite a few pains this morning. Is it just the trauma of it all? I KNOW things are different. I totally understand your comment about "the intestines twisting thing." I want so badly to get beyond this, but it is hard to do when I am sitting at my desk and that crampy feeling rises or that pain hits momentarily.
Forget exercising...I'm not about to risk it. I'll walk, but that is all I will do. I am still tender when I turnover in bed at night. How did you get beyond this?

Hi Dasie,
It was an experience and I did not begin exercising until 6 wks after my surgery. I had to be cut open diagonally above and around my belly button. The scar is horrible and I now have this Muffin top that I did not have before the surgery. It makes me crazy.....I am hoping to see a surgeon for plastics to see if they can do anything to make it look better. That area for me is still numb as well. I did crunches at the gym last week and hurt not like a "i worked out too hard" but more achy inside. I know it is a result of that surgery.
I went through a year of hell up untl that point so I m happy that is over and am grateful becasue the surgery saved my life so for that I am grateful!
Hang in there. You are early out and I was home for a month after healing so I can not imagine being at work.

My goodness...you did have an ordeal. I actually wish my surgery would have been an open surgery. I guess I feel that way the surgeons could have gotten a better look. I too am grateful for what my surgeon.
What described after working out at the gym is why I will not risk it. I don't know how safe I will feel about it even when I am able to exercise.
My desk is at home. I do not work outside my home. With the incision you had, the recovery must have been difficult. Did you have symptoms for a year before you finally had surgery? That is the frustrating and scary part of his.
...glad you are back and doing well.
