My freezer has a LOT of stuff in it I bought when I first got here and really need to start cooking up - chicken breasts and Tilapia. I also have some Tysons breaded chicken in various flavors that I'm not too keen on eating again since I had a sugar episode one day.

Time to throw out the
butterscotch chips
crushed peppermint candies I got for Christmas 2 years ago
brown sugar
Ghiradelli dark chocolate chips (perhaps this will take more will power than I have)
frozen homemade jelly from who knows when...
a couple of old cake mixes
the leftover peach cobbler that I made earlier this week for my son, who is leaving today.
I use honey/molasses once in a while although inhale Splenda and sugar too.
I don't sweeten my coffee when I drink it (coffee to me is a social experience that I enjoy drinking by a friend - and I'm not talking filtered or coffee-maker!) My protein powdered (big canisters) drinks are too sweet for me. I do use honey or molasses when I bake which is only a few times a year.
I have not gotten to normal BMI weight. I am 5ft tall and at my highest weight was 270lbs so BMI I think was 51. I now weight just under 170lbs and unfortunately I'm still the same height so my BMI is 32-32 depending on which search-engine I log into.
I never want to ever feel emotionally deprived from food. I do not count calories. I calculate my grams of protein and try to stay away from pastas, rice and most doughy products (barekas, malawach, -sorry guys you'll have to google those!). I prefer now to enjoy my protein with salad or cooked veggies.
I still eat ice cream and chocolate. I unfortunately still graze-but on sunflower seeds and not potato chips. Even after four and a half years I wish I could allow myself to indulge? I do-once a month.
My problem is if I eat out on the Sabbath meals and how I choose which foods are served.and what I choose to buy when shopping which is why I try to only go once a week.
So, no I do not agree with removing all foods that I should not eat. I do have
guests once in a while. And I like to have food in my home. I know I did not make enoug cognitive changes but I fo think I am more aware and accountable for my eating choices.

I do have a collection of different types of crackers and wraps that I have purchased over the last several months to see which I like best. Some of these probably need to go.
I have cooked chicken in my freezer that he even put in a Walmart bag and asked if he could throw it away - I said no.... I never take it out and use it though.
I keep real sugar but it doesn't bother me so I'm ok. My kids won't drink tea sweetened with splenda or anything else except sugar. We have real Mayo because DH hates the lite. That doesn't bother me because I like the lite better.
Chips, cheeze-its, cake and ice cream I can't have in my house. Of course he loves them and wants them there all the time. We have none of those items right now.

I made them put Houston's candy and treats where I can't reach them without climbing on a chair or stool. I'm OK with sugar, cereal, and pancake syrup so those can stay for awhile. I only use sugar subs and SF syrup. There is an open bag of Honey BQ chips that have been tempting me but I've been winning the battle. Thank goodness for popcorn!

God is walking with me every step of the way. Because of HIM this is possible!!
