Believe it or not...I am coaching cheerleading!
Yes you heard me right I am coaching cheerleading. I am excited. I was a cheerleader in high school but to me this is definately a milestone. My son is going into the 7th grade which means he will be playing school sports. I was approached the last 3 years about coaching. I felt like if I went ahead and took my turn at least I could go to all my son's stuff and still get paid. I loved cheerleading and was actually Cheer captain in highschool. I got MVP and coaches award. My knees were injured my last year but it is definately something that gets into your soul. I am excited about this week we have tryouts. My daughter is coming to help me. I am learning the dance. My daughter says please mama don't do it in public. She cringes. I feel like Stella got her groove back. Lol. I pray that this is a good experience. Stress factor is definately high but after the squad is set I pray it gets a little easier. Keep me in your prayers as I show these girls what cheerleading is all about. Wish me luck!~I figure it will be a great opportunity to exercise.
LOL You and Roz will be comparing notes. Good luck and enjoy!

I started coaching high school cheerleading two years ago. I do love it and it can be a ton of fun but the drama factor with 20 teenage girls can be high. I love the exercise aspect of it --I work out right alongside my girls and I make them run too. The best advice I can give is set your standards high and make your expectations clear --it nips the drama right in the bud. There is nothing like the taste of sweet success when your girls compete and bring home that giant trophy! Have fun!!1
