6 weeks out and need a bit of advise
RNY on 04/09/12
I will be six weeks out (RNY) on Monday. I would like to figure out what I should be eating. Unfortunatly, my docotr's office, while being very sweet, are not very informative. I went to a 5 minute meeting with a "nutritionist" (a nurse in the office) about six months ago and that has been it. I have done tons of research on the internet and of course come up with so many different answers. I figure the best advise seems to come from here. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Thank you!
Still lot of protein shakes and try some Wendy's chili, refried beans, shrimp ****tail, Greek yogurt sweetened with Splenda and some SF jam or SF syrup, cheese, ...

My surgeon had a very strict diet, I was still on full liquids @ 6 weeks out. I did 3 weeks of clears with protein added, 3 weeks of fulls, 3 weeks of pureed, 3 weeks of soft, and then advanced as tolerated. Now doing a low carb, high protein diet. 3 meals and 3 snacks per day. Getting @ least 65 gm of protein and trying to keep below 50 net carbs/day. Hope that helps

by 6 weeks, we were eating soft food or well cooked tender stuff. No white anything. 6 meals a day of 1/4c protein, 1/4c veggie or fruit. 2-3 protein shakes a day.

Think of soft foods as mentioned above....I ate a lot of chili, egg salad, chicken salad, appetizer meatballs made in the crockpot...at about 6 weeks I was able to eat cheese...greek yogurt, protein pudding. Eat VERY protein focused...and of course protein shakes.
Good luck!
