OT I Lost My Dog Today

People may have heard me talk about JJ, my little Chihuahua.  He was 12 years old and 2 years ago he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and given a year to live.  We were lucky to have him 2 years but today his heart couldn't pump anymore and he passed away in his sleep.
I am just so sad.  I miss him so much already.
I thank everyone who has prayed with me that kept him here for a year more then we were told.  We've had two years to love him and spoil him and I'm grateful for that.

It is never easy to say goodbye to a friend (human or furry), but it is good that he lived a life where he was loved and treasured. I know this is hard, but it is good that he went in his sleep. If he had to go, that was best for all. My prayers and sympathies are with you.

Thank you all so much.  Yes, I am grateful he went in his sleep.  I so didn't want to make the decision to have him put to sleep and I prayed that when it was his time to go it would happen in his sleep.
My heart is just broken.  He was such a good dog.  I know everyone says that but JJ really was special.  Everyone who meet him loved him.  He was always happy and friendly.  He could be persistent when he wanted something but it was in an endearing way.  Like when he wanted to sleep under the covers with me.  He would take his paw and scratch at my arm for a minute.  I would pretend to ignore him and he would get more persistent until I lifted the covers and he would snuggle down with me.  I'm going to miss him.

Tazz...what can anyone say?  So sorry for you barely begins to express it.  I know what it is like to lose a dog. They are a part of your family , a part if your life, a piece of your heart.  We miss their presence, their loving eyes and the feel of them curled up next to us taking a nap.  Sigh.  But do know this- it gets easier with time .....as you said you were lucky to have JJ for a year longer than they said. Truly sorry for your loss.   (((((hugs)))))

I am so, so sorry.  That is one of life's ordeals I have yet to face with my Dasie.  Just thinking about that day makes me cry.  I know how much love and pleasure  your lil' Chihuahua gave you.  There is nothing that compares to the love and loyalty of a pet.

I know how much pleasure our pups provide us.

I am sooo sorry for your loss. The blessing in the sadness is you had his love for all
these years. I try to remember this as I face my dog's failing health.

Hugs!!!!
