Ok I here!
Hi! My name is Angel. I am a 30 year old female, married with children. I had a hyst at a very young age and not feeling my self while on HRT I stopped all of them. I have been hormone free for several years and at least feel normal in that aspect. However that is were the weight gain came in..... 70 pounds later Im here. My sleeve procedure is scheduled June 1st and im SUPER EXCITED! I can not wait to start this journey. However I am not gonna lie, I am a little nervous for what to expect. What can you all tell me that I may not of learned already or even give me your best advice.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Welcome! My little girl was 5 and my husband works 12 hour shifts. I had my dad stay with me for a few days. I would have been fine without help! My recovery was a breeze and I hope yours is too.
Cook some meals for the family and freeze them. I didn't have as much in the house as I should have! Would have made meal time easier.

Hi Angel--Welcome and congrats on your surgery date!
I had a sleeve about a month ago. I was still in quite a lot of pain for the first couple of days home from the hospital. I took the narotic pain med they sent me home with for 2 - 3 days as needed and then switched over to the liquid tylenol for a couple of days as needed. My husband was home with me the first day and then I was on my own with a girl friend close by if I needed her. I definitely wasn't up to 9 year old kid duty (easy) for 4- 5 days after I got home.
I bought a bunch of easy meal items from Costco and Trader Joe's that my 9 year old could make for himself or were quick and easy for me to make for him.
I also had some bones from several roasted chickens that I had frozen and part of a roasted chicken that I made into a huge pot of very flavorful chicken broth. Prior to surgery I had made home made soups and frozen in small containers for me to eat early on. I also made this recipe for French Onion Soup from Susan M Leach's site that was really delicious and went down well after I had been home a week or so. http://bariatric.susanmleach.com/french-onion-soup/ I would recommend using all beef stock, not a combo of chicken and beef as she has and I added extra "Better than Broth" flavoring to make the stock richer. I had the soup without cheeese or bread of course.
Good Luck!
