Good Morning. Are we there yet? No! Are we there yet? No!
There are a few tricks to help you get around and over this particular conundrum, such as taking before and after pictures and posting them as your desk top wallpaper where you can see them ALL THE TIME. lol You can try to believe your measurements rather than the mirror. Okaaay, maybe not. You can get someone to play "Am I her size?" by taking pictures of mall shoppers. Hmm, you might get slapped or arrested though. People don't seem to like having you take their pictures while they're in the dressing room. Now taking your own picture might be an option and we've seen lots of those in-the-dressing-room pictures. Jus****ch for the blinding flash and smile! :)
Ok, got any ideas how to address the mind's lag time behind new body size?

Altho I see pictures of me and end up focusing on what is still "fat", like the sides of my arms.

Looking in the windows as you walk down the street is a great way to see it and I asked my sister/daughter when I see someone if I am larger or smaller than that person to just get a prospective.
I can stand in front of the mirror, but not for long or I will find all kinds of things wrong. I think I am still much too critical of myself.
I have to do a presentation this afternoon in front of our commissioners regarding our budget for next year and I am sooooo nervous - I am not a speaker in front of crowds.

Intellectually, I know I shouldn't lose more weight - I'm slightly below the mid point of the healthy BMI range with 21.7% body fat, but emotionally, I'm afraid of regain, so I'm tempted to cut way back on food...
Hopefully I can get where Linda and Roz are - stable and content where they are.
I think the hardest thing for me to adjust to was Sizes. I dropped from a 20-22 to a 2 and I Sooooo Loved those 2's!!!! I wore 2's for about a year and then everything started adjusting and settling in. When I bought the next seasons clothes it was really hard to try on 4's but I found out that there was a lot more to choose from in 4's than there were in 2's and if I was being honest with myself the 4's felt so much better even after the small meals that I eat. It took me awhile to adjust my thinking to "it's not the number that counts" mentality.
I think I have finally excepted I'm a "thin" person. Last week on vacation when I came home 5 pounds heavier I wasn't worried or paniced. I knew my yoyo dieting days were over and as soon as I went back to eating "normal" the pounds would come off.

God is walking with me every step of the way. Because of HIM this is possible!!

Taking pictures along the way is great strategy and suggestion. I wish that I had done that. It might have helped to make the head adjustment. Some days, I still take a deep breath, before I put my jeans on. Wondering, if they will still fit.
