I've been meaning to order some single bars and just did!

PBJ, vanilla almond crunch, apple pie, lemon cream pie and strawberry cheesecake. Can't wait to try them!

Last week my car battery died and we were in the auto shop and my sugar started to tank -- of course I didn't have anything with me so I grabbed a granola bar off the counter and ripped into it. Embarrassed my DH -- hey a girls gotta do what she gotta do!!! I figure these will keep well in my bag (non chocolate).

What do you keep in your bag o tricks????

I ordered free samples and they never came so I haven't ordered them.  Bariactic choice has some non-chocolate bars that don't melt.  I usually order my other bars from them and i guess I need to think about some non-melting ones.
I usually get nuts or popcorn if I am out and have nothing with me.  Or head to subway for something and eat the middle out of it.  or Wendys for chili.
I admit I was better early out about keeping something with me than I am now but now I can find SOMETHING almost everywhere.

I almost always have a protein bar in my purse...usually an atkins that doesnt have
much chocolate in it. If I am going to be out for hours I tend to have a few snacks with
me including cheese, soy chips, or nuts. I also try to keep small bags of protein in my
car so I can make a protein coffee if I need to. Like you though I have torn into a random
granola bar if it does not have too many sugars in it ( I still don't know if I dum*****t). I
get HUNGRY and it aint pretty sometimes!

p.s. think thin makes some bars that are mostly nuts so this is also a good option in the
heat.

I used to have a few Think Thin bars in my purse but they got eaten.  I do have a pack of peanuts in there.  If I am out and about then I can go to Wendy's for chili or Taco Bell for pintos and cheese or my favorite, Jack in the Box for their grilled chicken tenders, or worse case scenario I get a dollar cheeseburger somewhere without the bun.
I have had a few hypoglycemic episodes but fortunately I have been at home.  I grab some gluten free crackers and peanut butter and I am fine, or even coffee or tea with milk works out for me.  It has only happened once when I was out and I was at the grocery store so I got some fruit and a cheese stick.

Yeah they are great in a pinch and the fact that they don't melt.  i hate to pay postage. I don't know where you live but GNC and Vitamin Shoppe carry them now for the same online price.

I keep a few Kashi granola bars in each car, and a tiny tub of the single serving size of peanut butter my purse.

I was out shopping yesterday. At 2pm I needed food!  I ran back to my car and got the Quest Bar out of the glovebox.  Yum!

I'm a gold card member at GNC.  They ordered a box of Quest for me.
Price $29.99 less 20% for box purchase, less 20% for Gold Card.  $19.99.  That's the best price I've found anywhere.  They will order and hold it and phone you when it comes in.

I go to the local convenience store and get a pre-packaged cheddar cheese.  It holds me off, and most cheddar cheese is lactose free, or very close to lactose free, so I don't have to worry about my picky pouch.

For me, protein bars tend to be a little sweet, and can trigger my carb monster, so I only use them for emergencies.
