Newbie light weight surgery scheduled for this Friday
I survived! What a rough time. I had my surgery Friday 5/10 laparoscopic. All went well except I contracted pneumonia during recovery and that slowed down my progress. By post op day 3 my elevated white count and fever were a huge concerned and I couldnt keep any fluids in my - it was so painful. So I was reopened on Thursday and the discovered that the bowel that was reconnected had died and was leaking - yikes! So that was fixed, Im on the mend from pneumonia and I'm very week and sad.
Im home finally on soft food & fluids but so far I'm just keeping hydraydted. I'm so saddened about how this all went and how I feel. Any words of encouragement would be appreciated. I just want to.
Feel better
Thank you

I see you managed to keep your weight high enough...while MOST insurance companies do go by your consultation weight, some companies who buy those policies require a surgery weight of at least a 35 BMI. And yes, there has been a couple of people around OH that were denied based on the weight they signed in the day of surgery.
Btw, my BMI was very close to the line too...it was a 35.2 and in spite of trying to gain a couple of lbs, I actually lost and went into surgery at a 34.9. Thankfully my insurance went by consultation weight.
Welcome to the LW board, welcome to the loser's bench, SIP, REST, and WALK!!!
