Last week I was on a business trip. I went down to the hotel lobby to meet up with my client and his wife for dinner.  When I got down there, the man was nowhere to be seen.  A tall willowy woman said... Hi Lee!  She said she knew it was me because her husband told her to look for a slim woman with curly hair.  I about fell in love with her.  

We ate at a 5* restaurant and dinner was superb.   The chef battled Bobby Flay on Iron Chef.  The best part is that portions at these restaurants are small and delish.  Perfect for us "slim women".  :)

Please tell, what city and which restaurant? If you remember, who was the chef? Inquiring minds that like to occasioanly travel would like to know.

 Hi Linda, I see you're in S. Ca.  It was Nine Ten restaurant in La Jolla.  Chef is Jason Knibb.  Amazing menu. I ordered the Scallops because of the olive oil foam.  I've seen that mentioned on Top Cef type shows but never saw it plated.  The dinner was amazing.  It's in the lobby of a great hotel.  I loved my ocean view.  I would definitely recommend it.

Recent NSV was getting my clothes out from last summer and they all fit.  Can't remember last time that happened.  I haven't been overweight/obese in over a year.

I've been called tiny so many times its unbelieveable.  NSV - sitting in an airplane seat and being able to bend over and reach the stuff under the seat in front of me without dying.  Wearing size 4.  Seeing who the "skinny girl" in the window was when I walked by.

And - enjoying the way my body looked (minus the shar pei skin) - in clothes of course. Finishing up most of my journey with a TT and a BL/BA.

Since my maintenance I've put on 8-10 lbs, depending on the day.  While I'm not in love with my thighs anyore, I now look better in shorts....

I had RNY in November of 2009.
It has not been an easy journey at all but definately worth it all.
Probably my greatest NSV would be walking beside my husband and not getting winded , leaving him begging for mercy.
Best compliment would be there is no way you ever had WLS.
Greatest story...When going in for hernia repair my RNY doctor brought his interns in to see me before the surgery. He said I was a model patient. He said, Now does she look like she has ever had surgery. ETC. I felt very successful in that moment.

I live in the southern California desert. I haven't had surgery yet, will be doing VSG after I'm finished with my Kaiser options classes and wait the several months it takes to see a surgeon. Best NSV so far, needing smaller clothes while I'm still pre-op.
