My husband leaves for Afghanistan today
I know I can be successful w/out him, after all, I'm the one in control of myself - however, it's just hitting me hard. We have two teenagers (one will be graduating next year), I am now a full time college student & w/ my new lifestyle (wls)...I am a bit overwhelmed.
We've been through many deployments before, but somehow this one seems different. He has a very dangerous job over there (he's a Military Police Officer) & will be in the thick of it. I'm nervous for him & am trying to find a way to balance my life out.
I've never been an "emotional eater", but just the opposite. I tend to not eat @ all when I'm upset. I know that this is not an option for me & I will make sure that I keep to my schedule. I just know that it is going to be a struggle for me.
I see a therapist/life coach, so I have support on that end...but everything else. ::sigh:: I've always been the strong one in my family, so why do I feel like I'm falling apart?
Thanks for letting me vent.
Aimee
Please also realize that you are losing weight quickly and hormones are stored in our fat cells. Losing the weight releases the hormones quickly and in larger amounts and that can be overwhelming in itself.
Hugs and prayers going out to you and your husband. Please stay here with us on the board and let us help you through the rough patches.

We have your back...while I am not a military spouse, I was military. So I do have some inkling of what you are dealing with. It's never easy but it is needed.

Duodenal Switch (Lap) 01-24-11 | Surgeon: Stephen Boyce | High weight: 250 in 2002 | Surgery weight: 203 | Lowest weight: 121 | Current weight: 135 | Goal weight: 135

I went through some real emotional months after surgery. I'm not normally like that so it was a shock to everyone. I'm sure WLS and all of the changes are adding to you feeling a bit overwhelmed right now.
Just imagine how GREAT you are going to look when he gets back!

God is walking with me every step of the way. Because of HIM this is possible!!
