Cleaning Out the Closet

With the warmer weather finally coming I decided it was time to go through my closet and change out clothes.  I decided to get rid of everything that didn't fit or I didn't wear and I would put the cold weather clothes away until next year.
I am giving away 14 pair of jeans in girls size 12 and size 0 and some 1s.  I also got rid of all my sweat pants that were girls size 12 plus some shirts, robes and nightgowns I don't wear.
It felt good getting rid of those small sizes.  I hated wearing them and I didn't look good in them.
You would think my closet would be empty  now but I went into my shed and brought out all the clothes I put in there.  I have many pairs of jeans sized 1,2,3 and a few 4s that are big but are wearable.  These were the jeans I bought when I thought I was done losing and there are severeral that I was really upset that I couldn't wear.  I also brought out my summer tops and shorts.  I don't think I will have room to put them all.  Oh, and there were a bunch of dresses in there, too.  Because my memory is so bad I didn't remember a lot of the clothes so it was almost like getting new things lol.  I can't remember the last time I kept clothes from one year to the next.  This may be the longest I have had things that I didn't out grow.  I may actually even wear out some clothes some day.

I had gotten out my summer stuff, what little of it I had kept from last year, then it turned cold again.  Of course, it is suppose to be 80 again later in the week.  It is fun to shop in your own closet but I'm going to have to do some more thrift store shopping to have a wardrobe for the summer.  I've got stuff, but none of it matches.

Sounds like a tax write-off to me!

I haven't had to buy much the last couple of years and it's still exciting to try them on and they still fit!   The one thing I am looking forward to when DD and family moves out is having closet space!  Most of my clothes are in piles.  Thank goodness I have a large bedroom!

When I moved I too went through everything - and found stuff I'd forgotten about!!

Well... I DO have to do some shopping too - but need to buy some bigger capris.  Seems my 4's are too tight...

Think I have some sundresses too that need to be "given up"...
