It's been awhile and I thought I'd stop in and check in.

Aside from my incisions being sore from some work the surgeon did on them yesterday, I'm doing much better than I was several weeks ago.  I've been allowed to start on clear liquids - YAY!  The doctor wants me to start back on my protein shakes next week.  I'm a little nervous because my tummy doesn't seem to like a lot.  Is this normal (the not having an appetite for what you used to)?  I do have another question for you all.  What suggestions do you have for re-introducing foods back into your life?  I'm taking it slow.  I'm also a nervous wreck about adding things to my diet with all that I've been through.  Guess it's time to bust out the notes from the classes...

Take care and I'll catch up with you all hopefully tomorrow.

You've been through a lot, so take it easy. Try to find a shake you can sip and do keep sipping other fluids as well. I think early out I tried Wendy's chili and Taco Bell cheesy beans. Also, shrimp ****tail was easy for me in the early days. I still drink a lot of shakes everyday--I hope you can find one that you like. It took quite a few tries to find the right one but I settled on Syntrax Nectar chocolate truffle, strawberry mousse and IDS MultiPro vanilla-cinnamon. I'm going to try Jay Robb vanilla whey because someone recommended it.

Please keep us posted on how you're doing.

Definitely going to take it easy.  I need to.  I have some Syntrax Nectar protein shakes that I'm going to be using next week.  I liked them before the surgeries.  Hopefully they still agree with me.

Slow is best.  I did best with warm instead of cold.  although I love the Nectar, I was big on unjury chicken soup early out.  Everything had too much taste so I deluted things and got a lot more liquids in that way.  I had no appetite for what seemed like ages.  I ate on schedule, every 3 hrs, 1/4c.  Follow your program in terms of what and when.  They are all different, some go straight to mushies, other do weeks of liquids.  If something doesn't sit well, don't give it up forever, just try it again in a few weeks.

glad you are doing better.
