Travel Insurance Advice Needed...HELP

Hello Everyone...

               I dont post often but  I do get on here and read faithfully...I am awaitng surgery for an incisional hernia...papers signed with surgeon and just waiting for a date...I was wondering if anyone could help me with some advice....My family are planning a vacation in July and we have paid the initial deposit with the balance  due this Friday...I have been granted a two extension with the hopes I would have a surgery date...So far no date...now his office telling me  it could be after my trip rather than before...My question is....Cancellation Insurance agent has told me my hernia and any problems connected to it will not be covered...Can anyone shed some light on this situation as we stand to lose over $600.00 no refundable deposits...Should we proceed on this trip and take our chances...should we cancel it?  How serious is an incisional hernia...what complications could arise...Thanking you in advance for your imput....

I had an umbilical heria repair right before my knee.  It was minimal and other than not wanting tight pants for a while, it was nothing.  I don't think I did any pain meds after I came home.  I know it isn't the same thing but maybe similar.  If it was anything major, they wouldn't be waiting until after July.

Have you asked your doctor if she/he thinks it is okay to go on vacation?  Are you very symptomatic?  Are you leaving the counrty?
