Good Morning. Quick, before I forget...

...I find myself saying that more and more often these days. I don't think it's a vitamin deficiency causing me to forget recent events or not being able to call up info from my brain and getting it to come out of my mouth -- I think I'm just getting old.
Would you guys share some of your memory tricks with me?  Mostly what I do is stick to a routine so I don't lose my way. I get the same things ready for the next day the night before and at 6AM I get my lunch bag ready to take to work...right before I jump into the shower. Routine seems to help me keep track. What are some of your ways to keep focused and remember things?

Y'all have a great day today. ^_^

I hAve the same problem, totally age related for me. My DH is worse.

I make a list, if it isn't on my list, it doesn't happen. That's the only thing that's consistently worked for me for years,

I'd be lost without my smart phone.  All my tasks and list go into it.  DH complains, but it works for me.

I really could use some help, I am getting too forgetful - my memory is getting really bad.  I hope I can blame it on age.

Routine helps me with my daily tasks, but for everything else I have found myself writing things down. Need to learn how to use my iphone my hubby gave me and start utilizing the features on there, but I am such a paper pencil kinda girl.

Hi Gina....

I forget things too...lots of times I go into a room either to pick up something or put something away...and I stand there bewildered as to why Im in that room...I walk back out and realize I forgot what I needed to get...sometimes on the way back I find something I was looking for earlier...lol...Is it an age thing?  Or all of us have so much on our plates these days...just know you are not alone...and it happens to younger people too...my niece forgets everything and she is in her 20's!!!!  Have a great day Gina!!!!

Wish I had a good answer.  I, too, rely on routine but when that is broken, sometimes things don't hold up.  Leaving things out, like papers that have to be done, helps.  A list would help but I would probably lose it under the papers.    I do try to identify a few things each day and get those done.  I can hold on to that much usually.  But this just reminded me I forgot to do the state taxes on time so I guess I better to that right now.

Routine and using a smart phone helps considerably. I can wing it altho I do go all "forgetful" whereas dh can not tell with a break in his routine...it gets him all out of sorts, cranky, and just plain not nice to be around.

IF I give him a bit of warning to go out of his routine, he can handle it better but I have learned not to spring things on him all of a sudden.

As far as a smart phone...if it's an iPhone, you can add others to your appointments by inviting them. So we both end up with the same thing on our calendars without plugging it in both. It's a simple function of the built in calendar that iPhone uses.

Setting up a regular routine (I'm a creature of habit), my smartphone (set appointments & reminders) & sticky notes EVERYWHERE.

WOW  I thought I was the only one!!  If I don't put appointments in my phone...I miss them.  If I don't make a list for the grocery store...I have to make another trip to pick up the things I need.  If I don't put my lunch bag and Protein cup out the night before...I have to do without or go home on my lunch hour.  Sometimes I even start Menus and Miles, get a phone call, and forget to fini**** until later when I go back and check to see if anyone has written.

Routine...lists...and my phone reminders keep me from going insane, feeling stupid, and thinking I'm forgetful!

I think everyones lives are just so much busier now a days than they were before or maybe we have just started relying on technology to keep us straight.
