Good Morning. Take off the blinders

The overall experience that comes to this board has been extrememly helpful for me.  We all have the same struggles with food, and getting in all our nutrients.  It was a good surprise for me to see how similar everyone's path has been regardless of surgery type.

((((Gina)))),

I haven't been on this board in years, but I think I just might have found a new place to land! This looks like a wonderful, welcoming, supportive group.

I absolutely agree that there seems to be some WLS bigotry or prejudice, which is sad. I think we all need to find the WLS option that best supports our own needs and I honestly am so very glad that we have so many WLS options. I hope that everyone investigates all of the options available and then makes an informed choice that supports their needs and abilities.

Like you, my online and in-person support groups are mixed surgery groups and we learn so much from one another. I look forward to sharing and learning.

Thanks again for the invitation.

Warmly,

Barb

Most of the boards I am on are mixed. The only time it doesn't work is when people with RnY post about things that are *only* true of  their surgery as if they were true of all surgeries. Things like "freaks shouldn't drink with meals because it can stretch the stoma".

I think that happens because they are the majority and, for a while, that pretty much was the only WLS out there with a few exceptions. So sometimes they forget there are  other surgery types.

Sad hey!  Weight loss is weight loss be it surgery or not!  At the end of it all, it is a daily struggle that we need to support each other.
