I told her hubby to hide it or throw it in the garbage. I didn't see it this morning when I got up and I'm not going to be searching for it!

Hi Roz!! I like cake, too and decided I need a cupboard for the stuff I am not eating .. Easter candy, cookies, petit fors etc. so I don't have to look at it!
. It will soon hit the can -- trash day is tomorrow. I don't want to pitch all her candy but most of it is going. We are making snack size baggies tonight.

Hi Roz!
Thanks for the warm welcome back yesterday.
I agree with good carbs, bad carbs. I am going to focus more on my protein & good carbs (for me mainly veggies & fruit). I don't think they are what got me to 223# - it was definitely the processed carbs.
I think what really scares me about processed carbs is a couple of things: I don't feel the restriction AND they are addicting to me and it is such a slippery slope.
Excited when I weighed in at Weigh****chers today (I take their weight as "official" since I have gotten in bad habit of hopping on scale all the time when I'm home) and I am 1.2# away from my "fantasy" goal that I randomly set when I went to surgeon's office for first visit. I haven't been in the 130's since before kids (and my "baby is 27!).
Here's my menu so far:
B: Jay Robb protein with milk (left out yogurt today)
34 Protein/13 carbs
L: Homemade chef salad with chicken, ham, eggs & blue cheese
dressing 10 protein/ 4 carbs
S: Jay Robb protein in water 25 protein/ 0 carbs
D: Pot roast in crock pot - not sure of totals yet.
Other snacks may be apple with peanut butter or popcorn. Haven't decided yet.
Vitamins - IN
Walk - did 5 minutes and FROZE, so will do other activity before end of day

I am like an endless pit when it comes to carbs and then when I eat meat I have a terrible time just getting down a few bites. I'm so glad I count on my Protein Drinks to get all of my Protein in or I would never meet my totals for the day.
Congrats on the scales!!!

I have not said anything at the meetings about it, but I have online, and people have been fine online. I may say something someday, but not now. I am so happy with my progress, if there would be some negativity, I don't want anyone "raining on my parade" at this time. Also, there is even a support group on WW site for bariatric patients - so there are probably more of us on there than we know about.
I had joined before surgery and went back about 2-3 months after surgery. My goal was to reach lifetime, and have WW help me with maintenance. My surgeon's office is not as convenient, and I just feel more comfortable at the WW meetings. My losses when I went back were more "normal" at that time. I really like weighing in weekly in front of someone, and also the support. Our leader is great, and I feel the meetings are useful whether one has had surgery or is a regular member. Most of the meetings are about planning, behavior changes, etc, which is what I really need help with. Example of today's meeting was to have a Plan B for exercise when your usual routine is interrupted.
I do count my points, etc, but also am aware of needing to cut back on some of the "bad" carbs that I have been eating. I really like that they are going to more whole foods, etc, which is what I like as well.
Sorry - didn't mean to write a book!!!

it's beautiful here and I'm going to get out and drive Poppy soon. I had an early PT this morning and got there in time to spend 15 min on the bike and 5 on the eliptical. that plus what I did will be it except for driving Poppy.
I'm glad DH and I don't like the same sweets. I can tolerate having his honey buns and junky stuff around because I don't really like it. But candy is a weakness and I would have a hard time staying away. Cake doesn't call my name but brownies sure would.
decaf protein coffee 35g
cheese toast with sprouted bread
lemon tea 23g
chicken, salad
walnuts, celery, peanut butter
steak, green beans ( I need to get last years out of the freezer)
protein shake 35g

Brownies...I don't think I've had one of those since before surgery. A brownie without icing probably wouldn't tempt me but I think the fear of dumping on of that chocolate keeps me from trying one. I love cake but I only take a very small piece (like a 1/3 of a small piece) at a time. My problem is going back for the other 2/3's over the day.
I still haven't found the sprouted bread. I did buy some of the whole wheat flat sandwich buns so I could put some egg salad on it for tomorrow's lunch and maybe for dinner. I'm going to put /2 of the package in the freezer because if not it will go to waste.
Good Menu!
