I added some simple, at home, weight training (think 2 lb. dumbbells from Walmart) and I've gotten my strength back)
Best wishes!
Now I understand the "hospital panties". You must be doing better, they always kept me bare butted.
Muscle. I think I did ok with muscle until my knee when south then I did lose muscle and muscle tone. I wasn't able to push around the carriages, lift stuff, all that I had been able to do before. Part of it was I was 1/2 the person I had been and didn't have the sheer weight behind the effort but part of it was muscle loss. So I am working on that now that my knee will allow it. Simple exercises every day make a difference. That will come back for you too. Right now, concentrate on getting healthy and getting home.

I hope that you continue your recovery on a smooth path. Your note sounds a lot more upbeat than yesterday's note.
I agree with the other posters that lifting weights really helps with muscle tone. I've been doing that since my surgery, and it has really helped. My advice is to be consistent, and don't overdo it the first few times out. Get some burn, but don't do so much you get stiff the next morning.
I do hope you are going to get on with your journey and start feeling better - and stay out of the hospital!
