14 Months of Normal?

I've been thinking and I realized that in February, 2011 I reached my first goal of no longer having an overweight BMI.  It has been 14 months since I have been overweight.  That may be the longest time, not too sure.  I was remembering this time last year I had my first hernia surgery and the anesthesiologist coming in to do the epidural and commenting on how I was tiny and it should be a problem and I was looking around to see who she was talking about.
I am hoping that I will now be able to wear clothes until they wear out and not just get too small for me.  I have all my warm weather tops in the shed waiting for me.  My jean size has gone down a bit but I am gaining a little and I have the jeans in my next size in there, too, so I shouldn't have to buy anything.
I also bought a bathing suit online last year.  It was only $10 with shipping and it's really nice and flattering so I can't wait to wear it.
Still dealing with health issues.  I was telling my daughter that in the last year I have seen, or going to see, my PCP, surgeon, liver specialist, psychiatrist, endocrinologist, neurologist, pain specialist, physical therapist not to mention the nutritionist, NP and dentist.  I am keeping the medical profession in business around here.  I thought that after my second hernia surgery in a year that my health issues were pretty much resolved and then I got the headache from hell and I have been dealing with that going on a month now, plus I need to work out a plan for my osteoporosis.  And to think when I had my first WLS in 2002 I had no health problems other then obesity.  Of course I am 10 years older and a lot of my issues are just due to getting older.
I also wanted to update everyone about my son and daughter in law's pregnancy.  Unfortunately it doesn't look like the pregnancy has taken and she is just waiting to pass it.  The doctor said it never grew or had a heartbeat.  Naturally they are heartbroken as they tried for a long time to get pregnant but are hopeful that at least she knows she can conceive and that the next time it will take.  She has issues due to PCOS.
Well, that's enough from me.  You guys have been my main support through all the trials and tribulations of this journey.  One of the ways I know I got offtrack with my first WLS was when I stopped participating in my support groups both online and in person.  I guess I wasn't the only one since the in person group has pretty much fallen apart and the online group has little activity.  I know when I check in every day, even if I don't post, I am reminding myself to take care of myself and do what I need to do to stay on track.

This was a great post.  I really appreciate that you are sharing all of your issues and your thoughts.  I can relate to keeping the medical profession in business - I hope it's just because I'm older, but I've found that everytime I have a test, it seems to show something unusual!

Also you have a good reminder to keep on track, and how the support groups and online can help us with accountability.  I have found this group very helpful - especially reminding me about no carbs and keeping my protein up.

I hope your headache starts to get better soon.

Thanks for this post. I have been wondering about your son and daughter in law. I am sorry to hear their news, but you are right, they know they can conceive so there is hope.

There is no way to know what health issues you may have had without surgery. Or if you would have even gone to the doctor. I know I seldom did because no matter what my concern was, the first response was always to lose weight.

I hope that in the up coming year, your medical needs settle down a bit. Will be swinging critters for you and your family.

Cheers

Congratulations on your 14 months of not being overweight!!  That is a great accomplishment.

I am so sorry about your son and daughter in law.  I hope they can find peace in this sad time.

Tazz, I hope the headaches are resolved soon.  I can't imagine much worse.  It has been a great spring here and I want you to be out on your bike and feeling great.  This needs to be your year.

Congrats Tazz on these last 14 months maintaining, and I hope all your other health issues resolve quickly.  You have been through so much, but you are a great success story.

PS

What you said about staying connected to support is absolutely critical.  I can tell when I go a period of time not coming to OH my journey begins to lose a little of its edge.  I don't like that feeling.
