Protein coffee makes me sick

caffeine really makes my belly hurt. Not nauseous and I don't throw it up but it hurts. It is probably my ulcer that does it. My surgeon instructs his patients to avoid caffeine but I know most don't. I didn't until I got the ulcer.

Have you tried any of the clear types of protein drinks? The ones that are more like drinking a crystal lite type drink that has protein in them. I haven't tried any that I liked yet, but I have some on order that should be in next week from Netrition. I'll let you know if I like it.

Let me know how they are.  I tried several nectars and they are too sweet.

You might try unflavored protein powder mixed with SF lemonade.  Pretty tasty, and some lemonades are pretty tart.  It was one of my favorites until the acid did me in.

Thank goodness milk doesn't bother me at all. I usually have 8oz a day with 1 scoop. I haven't tried protein coffee since I was very early out. It didn't matter how I made it - I didn't like it. I think I'll try the hot cocoa like Lee makes. Having something warm (other than ho****er) sounds great to me. Tonya I hope you find something that works for you....being sick stinks!

When making the cocoa, mix in a shaker cup with cold water or milk, pour in mug, heat 30 seconds, stir, repeat until warm enough.  Failure to stir will cause protein to clump.

If you can afford calories, top with lite whip cream!  It gets rid of the protein smell and is delightful.  I mix with water so that I can have this treat! :)

Lee-read my post up above as to how I make my PP coffee. My pp is usually only chocolate so I use the PP instead of sugar and this worked really well. It is an art to perfect making a hot PP drink without accidental clumps.
