Good Morning. What are the traditional foods for Easter again?

So, we'll get a phone call from Son#1 Saturday morning wanting to know what we have planned for the weekend. I cannot remember beyond pork of some kind what the traditional food items are for Easter. I don't think they are rabbit stew and lamb kabobs as Son#2 was trying to tell me.   I think he was getting Passover mixed up with Easter in his reasoning, which I will not divulge here as to not offend anyone.

Please help me with some ideas for an Easter meal done in the kitchen or the grill. Son#2 and DH think we should grill something...they both said no to ribs. {sigh}

I think we used to have ham but who knows past that.

PT this afternoon.  I want to drive Poppy this morning, we have been getting storms every afternoon so when I am getting ready, it starts and doesn't stop til dark.  Otherwise, work.

I think of  Lamb roast and braided bread with whole Easter eggs in it as traditional Easter foods.  Of course pre WLS my Easter meals always included Cadbury eggs and chocolate bunnies!

We always have had ham, deviled eggs, Hoosier green beans, potato salad. That being said, not sure what we will be having as I think we are eating at our church this year. Kids are all out of town. I used to bake either an Easter bunny cake or cutout sugar cookies too.

Also, like Tonya said, chocolate bunnies for grandsons!

We usually have fried/baked chicken, but this year we are having ham, deviled eggs, potato salad, green beans.  My SIL always does Easter and she decided not to do chicken this year.  My DS loves deviled eggs so we always have lots and lots of those.

I would love some good ribs!!  My BIL is on a grilling team that has competed nationally and he makes the best ribs and BBQ but I can't eat much of it.

Work today, board meeting this afternoon.  Hope the rain holds off so I can do a walk/jog this afternoon if we get back from the meeting in time.

We always did ham, potato salad, green beans, and *I* always had Cadbury eggs...

This year, we are going to a friend's house who is doing ham (she knows my dh LOVES ham) but as to what *I* am having, who knows what I will manage without wEaring most of it. :)

Why not have steaks, Gina?

We always have lamb on Easter. You can cook some great lamb chops like a steak, and they are very good.   I cook it with garlic and serve it with mint jelly for DH.

One of my specialties is making yeast bread  - not much help for someone who's had bariatric surgery!!! , so my family also enjoys homemade cinnamon rolls or croissants for breakfast, and homemade potato rolls or sourdough rolls with dinner.

Gina..My SIL would vote for the ribs if I gave him an option.  We grilled thick pork chops a few weeks ago and boy were they good!

My sister has Easter and she makes ham.  DH hates ham but I LOVE it!!!!!   I know the scales will up from the extra sodium but I'm going to enjoy every single bite!  This is the only day in the whole year that I get real ham.  I've only made 1 ham in the 37 years we have been married and it was a disaster.

It's the Easter candy I'm worried about.  I might have to buy myself some SF at the local Chocolate Store.

Ham and something with eggs like deviled eggs and/or homemade potato salad were traditional at my house growing up.  Mom didn't want to waste the eggs.

Throw a ham in the crock pot in the morning, cheesy hash brown potatoes, 7 layer lettuce salad, deviled eggs and who knows what else.
