Do you separate whey protein and iron by 2 hours?
My NUT recommended Centrum chewable MVI with iron. I see they have about the same amount of calcium in them (15% RDA) as my whey protein (11% RDA)....hhhhmmmm I asked about MVI that have both iron and calcium in them and she said it was not a large enough amount of affect absorption. Also. she said I could separate iron and calcium by 1 hr and not 2 with VSG.
I am just trying to get this thing on auto pilot. lol

I take iron away from all other vitamins except copper, away from calcium and dairy, away from eggs, whole wheat, caffeine, and I think that's it. I try to give it at a minimum of an hour but it's probably better to give it 2 if you can. Your calcium is canceling your iron out in your multi and probably better to take something like Proferrin ES or Biferra separately. Proferrin ES and Biferra will allow you to take your doses of other things closer together due to the products being heme iron rather than carbonyl, polysaccharide or useless iron sulfate. Carbonyl and poly are fine but stay away from iron sulfate.

centrum chewables is fine but you want the centrum silvers chewables without iron for 2 reasons - first off, you really dont want your iron in a multi - it is the wrong type of iron, not enough iron. The little bit of calcium wont block it out but you really cant count either one in the regular centrum chewables - the calcium is calcium carbonate and iron is ferrous sulfate which we cant absorb. Centrum silver chewables is the best of both worlds -it has no iron and it has selenium which is essential for us - the adult chewables has none.
So, do yourself a favor, get centrum silver chewables take them twice per day - they taste better too - the adult one taste like baby aspirin and the silver ones taste like a berry sweet tart.
Then you need some good iron - get some carbonyl iron with vitamin C - go to vitalady.com and get tender irons - they have the vitamin C in them, they are easy on the stomach, easy to absorb and nonconstipating. they are cheap too. The proferrin are great that Gina is talking about but are really expensive - so I alway recommend trying the tenders first they really work well for most. Take anywhere from 2-5 at a time at bedtime - 2-4 hours away from calcium and thyroid medication
I take my iron at bedtime, so I dont have to worry - it is apart from everything = easy not to worry about it that way
