First social event

My husband has organized a happy hour at a local bar for a bunch of our coworkers.  This will be my first time out to a social gathering since my WLS.  I'm thinking bar food and booze-I can't have those.  But, I figured I would play pool or shoot darts and drink some water with lemon.  I will be the designated driver for a change!  LOL.  Anyway, I'm feeling a little anxious so wish me luck.  BTW everyone knows about my WLS so nobody will think its weird that I'm not drinking or eating.

You might want to stick something in your purse that YOU can eat in case you get the munchies.

Good luck.

I have an out and about box in my car.  I will take some peanuts or something with me.  Good idea!

Since I am still pre-op I can't provide advice like some of the others here but from all my years of dieting experience I can tell you the following:  1.  Bringing a snack is a great suggestion  2.  Eating shortly before you go will also help 3.  You can ask that they put your water or a drink glass with lime if you don't want people  4.  If you really get muchies and want something on the counter or being offered... take a moment, walk away, you can use and excuse like stepping to the restroom or something  5.  Focus on how good you feel and look and what got you there!  Take a moment to be proud of what you have accomplished and be ready for lots of compliments!

I eat bar food. They often have something that is just meat. Or that I can eat the meat out of. Like I went to one bar and they ahd shrimp ****tail. Yum!

You should see if you can find a menu ahead of time so you can plan it out.

I had tons of fun.  Yes, I got a lot of compliments on my weight loss.  I ate 3 chicken wings and 4-5 chips with salsa and I was full.  I drank a giant glass of water with some lemon slices.  Thanks for the great tips and support.
